Pulled from the shop. No wonder I couldn't find them this evening despite searching for ages!
I'll watch this with interest from my island (UK)
He sent me one this week.

I, living in UK, would not like to ship one of your stands over here.
But would purchase any drawings/ plans so I can get one made here for my use if you do mass produce the stand.
Look...

This is great. Just to clarify. You made the end pieces and leg feet. The remaining parts are fence rail?
Nice idea. Especially as the fence rails you often choose in the US are hard to source here in the UK. I'll see what eBay has.
Instaflator is what I want for $4 but postage to me in the UK is $25+ on top! If only Dutch stocked it with his (fair) international postage!
Sorry not for me. Competitions are what I go to the woods to avoid
I use a strip of Shamwow towel tied as needed at each end. I believe you can get it in the USA.
Due to hand problems making knot tieing difficult I now use Nite Ize figure nines (small) attached to and left on the tarp with 2m lines having a loop to go over the peg and tighten the loose end...
Preamble: I have problems with both hands to varying degrees which prevent me tying knots without painful after-effects.
MY solution: So I have now settled on Nitize figure 9's for the tarp ridge...
Aka.j - I was at a small woodland UK meet this w/e gone and used my flags to differentiate my pitch from 8 others several of which were using the same tarp.
Oh and I like dwflags' work.

Pimms, I use these on a DDTarp and a HH Hex tarp and they are fiddly but effective.

I've gone the other way! I have just bought a 4 x 4m DDHammock tarp as my only tarp cover over the hammock and provide an admin area. I hope it works as I want it to, otherwise I will go back to the...
I moved from the snugpak synthetic to UKhammocks down and am so pleased I did. Delivery may be difficult though.

Think a tarp rigging thread would be useful. For me at least.
Because: I have a HH and their hex tarp and when trying to lengthen the pole to accommodate the tarp the bow produced was alarming.

Can't make those dates I'm afraid.

Any saving for UK resident Hammock forum members?
From this day forward I will describe my tree huggers as Tree Savers.
Don't know if I can stop saying Whoopie Slings. One step at a time....
My name is Alan and I'm a hammockoholic.
Me too (UK member).

Thanks Kyle
Just spotted this and made one up for a hang in two weeks time. Ingenious! Simple! And just what I need.
Alan
Line arrived today and my tarp ridge line will be tested this weekend. Many thanks.
Alan
Gresh, Thats a great offer. I'm seriously eyeing a gear hammock* and if my crappy DIY version doesn't work this weekend and your good lady does come over I might ask a favour.
*this one:...
English Midlands so 1 1/2hrs away.
I stand to be corrected, but my HH hex tarp is 146" plus the D rings if that helps.Alan
Any helpful photos you could share?
Alan
I thought so but bogged down in the mechanics. How much higher do folks put the foot end?
I've been mulling this over. Several people have mentioned hanging the foot end higher than the head end of their hammock.
How does this stop you sliding down in the hammock? Or is it for another...

If you can't sell it as one lot I will take 10m @ £9 delivered.

Alan
Falkniven, where did you get yours?
Alan
How much for 10m including PayPal, please?
I have spare the original Hennessy Asym tarp as I use the HH Hex tarp for better coverage.
Question: Has anyone made this item into an external kit hammock/organiser?
I spent this weekend in a...
I've had several orders arrive surpringly quickly, so I wouldn't be put off.

Do you have a photo or diagram of how the holes you drilled are orientated please?
Alan
Great stand. Question how did you round the tipod kegs off from the square? Is there some sort of plane for doing this?
I'd like to do that to mine before painting/preserving it.
Regards Alan
Me too. Top and Underquilts plus odds and ends of accessories. Top rate service.
Alan
Will do. Just my room is too short! Did measurements for yard use (and had a crafty nap).Alan

The weather here at the moment wouldn't be out of place for Noah. So I put it up again indoors and tinkered with the settings and drilled some holes for the hammock hanging etc. Just got to get some...
Well I finally got my act together and bought materials for a Turtledog stand and made it today. Cost £35 ($58 approx.). Used 1.8m 50mmx50mm (5' 10" 2"square) posts. Diagrams in earlier threads...
Out of interest does this discount apply to UK forum members? More especially have you considered selling pairs of 'struts' to those who want to use them with other hammocks.

Interesting review, thanks. I have some questions you might be able to answer.
How low is the hammockeer's rear when using this?
Do you think say, with a HH , that an underquilt can be used...
Swelly I tried this with my HH but was advised that damage to the line could occur over time. I now use whoopie slings and Dutch hardware (its easy to convert the hammock. Makes things lighter too if...
I love this thread and have piced up the parts* and it comes to +/-$40, which is ok. Now the problem.
*doesn't include the fence rail. We don't seem to have that here in UK? I am trying to source...
I had mine spliced onto a continuous loop which is fitted to my Hennessy. These are clipped onto whoopie slings and thence the tree as needed.
Do you have one of your awesome illustrations for the making/design of a gear hammock as I'm struggling to visualise its construction?
One of these seems Ideal for bits and pieces.
On the...

Thanks for the response. I'm experimenting with recoverable Iowa ground anchors (which I understand are used in trapping) and there is a thread on here about them. My application is for...
My apologies.
I agree, which is why I was intrigued to see details of his ground fixings!
Thanks for the suggestion, but I have already done that from the time of its inception to its...
