Yeah - I used 3/4 to keep the weight down, I think that its 350#. I crimped them by hand with an automated arbor press. and 3/4 was a good price at the time. These are all the reasons that I use 3/4....

Welcome! - I'm in Eatonville WA - I got 14" and I have a driveway that looked very similar. Trees of all sizes and branches made the road impassible.
I hung a second hammock of the same size - 2 GT doubles. In the second hammock I keep all of our extra blankets and down sleeping bags. I just adjust the distance it is below me as I sag into it....
7 years later I have bought everyone I know a GT Hammock of various expense and I own at lease 10 - Best Mate just got one of the newer ripstop ones from me for his birthday. I tell everyone about my...
I wanted to hang my whole family in a free standing structure and protect them from the weather that we have here on the Washington coast. So I made a 24' in diameter 14' tall geodesic dome. I posted...
I was walking through one of those camping stores and they had Grand Trunk Hammocks - I figured $20 was worth the investment. 14 hammocks later - most of which are Grand Trunk brand I haven't slept...
Good Day Fellow Hangers! Just thought that I should pop back in - It has been awhile. I have gone from living in the City in Downtown Seattle, to the suburb like cul de sacs of South Hill Puyallup....
I received a Parachute Nylon Double Hammock from Michelle over there at Grand Trunk. They sent it as a replacement to the one that tore. I am very excited. I believe that Grand Trunk goes above and...
"Grand Trunk" has already contacted me about the failure. They seem to have quite an amazing customer service approach. I figured that with it being an inexpensive item and that I am a big guy that...
The whole 1st experience was not very good either… Not the hammocks fault. But I used nylon webbing which stretched a lot. And if you are saying the hammock stretches a lot to then that also added to...
I am also looking at the DIY section and I am thinking about just making a ridiculously strong one for myself. So perhaps my wife can snuggle with me before retiring to her own hammock for the night....
I weigh 230 so yes I am near the weight limit. i did not have anything sharp or anything like that on my person. Just wearing light weight "wicking backpacking clothes" and no shoes. And like i said...
Ultralight failure - fell on butt…
I bought a Grand Trunk Ultralight Travel Hammock at a local retailer.
I set it up and it seemed fine when tested indoors.
I used it for a one nighter on a...
You will probably have to use bear proof food containers. The ranger’s station that you obtain your back country permits will loan them out to you. They are big and take a lot of space in your pack....
How far from the little washout was the big one that claimed the whole road?
Cool. I figured that was a real possibility.
Went to Dosewallips - Looked for others - Only found drunk tent dwellers. Could not find a suitable place to hang - that whole place looks like it is going to slide down the cliff. Tried to go to the...
I would like to be added to the map if possible.

Shock cord is like .10 a foot at REI - I was planning on just using it alone for my tie-outs. Anyon ehave trouble with that in the past? I figure paracoed for the ridgeline and shockcord for the tie...
I am wondering how this worked out for you... I was thinking of folding the webbing in half and sewing it together every 5 or so inches to make loops for a quick setup.
I am new and I bought that Nylon webbing from the climbing shop at REI, and boy does it stretch. I had to keep tightening things... Will it stop stretching? I am 6'2" and 245 lbs so thats whare the...

I already have this one:

I would definitely be interested in some central hangs. I am particularly interested in Cooper Lake and further Pete Lake.
I should also tell the wife that I am bailing on her to go to Dosewallips...
And if I am going to have to go underquilt. and I buy one - For the price why wouldn’t I just get a Speer peapod? It seems that for just a little more money you get allot more?
So… If I should be using side padding and the best way is to use one of those pad extenders… Should I forgo the idea of using the Big Agnes bags as they have the sleeve for the sleeping pad in them...
