Drinking the last cups of tea, before i go out to test my setup in storm conditions at the coast:D
@R00K
Sweeeet:), anxious to hear about performance(though personally, i think i'm going the cotton way - seems better for near fire and serious cold use)
Nice to see the hammock fever spread across the European continent. A big welcome from Denmark! :)
Usually i wear headphones to bed, to drown out ambient noises(i'm a light sleeper and out population density is high where i live).
But when out there, where quiet is - i find it almost...
Pic's or it haven't arrived;):D
I say "Hængekøje"!...... But that is of course on danish. In English i say "Ha-mock" kind a like Amok!:D
@ekhaat
Welcome to the camp fire, from the other side of Denmark(North of CPH):)
Ugh..... Fire we need!
I laugh of danger Ha Ha Haaaa!..... Seriously though, if we bring along a snow shovels and a extra big bag of motivation and walk as a team - then i dont mind 10k even in minus 35dg. Others may...
Muddus sounds good summer or winter :) Hint Hint ;)
any suggestions on location?
I think i should be north of the arctic circle(of course) and somewhere "dramatic" with nice scenery - but which airports are up north? And which have operative routes...
My knowlegde of northern swedens local geography is pretty limited, but snow, trees,wolves(:scared:) and good company sounds good to me!
Still fighting with the gear though! Dang it! All this...
I think Shewie would:rolleyes::D:D:D
Is it cold at that time? Any aurora borealis? Which location?
Questions.... questions.....
And i just love those small almost invisible messages:D
Pm sent!(the missing letters)
Do you also have a date? i have to get confirmation on the choppers in advance;) :lol::lol::lol:
It was indeed a nice hang Blaze, i really liked it(i'm normally a pretty restless person - but that place really got to me(in a good way). So peaceful and quiet:boggle:
Thanks for a good hang.:)
Yeah, were fine now, thanks - but it have been one heck of a time, trying to get accommodation to everybody(don't ever wanna this again!.... Ever!) . We been alternating(the kids and the AWF) between...
@Moski
We are moving to the other side of our town. :( But after being homeless for 45 days, with kids and dog etc.... phew it's a welcome relief.
Sounds like most of your hanging plans for next...
Hmmm...... My sixth sense(my hammock sense!):lol:
So you think the boys is well fed and happy by now? I hope so ..... cause i'm jealous! Been spending the whole day moving and is about to return...
@Moski
Feeling left out? ;)
Whoooopieeee a give away! i'm in :cool:
Hope you guys have a KA trip ;)
Do a test hang first! you have 11 days to perfect the setting up of the hammock!
It's no good looking like a fool in front of the boys, when your gear doesn't cooperate.
It will also leave a...
They are expensive!(living and working cost's are somewhat higher here), and a funny NB to the above; i've been searching for polish or hungarian goose down for about a year now, with little or no...
Except we don't use euro's here:((and thank god for that).... we use danish "kroner"....
Make sure that used goods you recieve is labeled clearly: USED GOODS, it can sometime save you some $$$ from the vultures.....
But it's not as great as it usually is reported(unless you ask the...
Perhaps a bridge hammock? Have you tried to use a small pierce of ccf in the foot box? It can "open up" the foot box just a bit, if it is enough, i don't know..... :)
Oh yeah..... Bikes(that's motor bikes), now thats a expensive hobby here. When a new bike lands in Denmark, it's taxed 180% of it's new value!!!
At least theres not a "tree hanger levy" yet :lol:
I think you should pick a quilt that is suited to 90% of your hanging needs, if temps get lower you can add a pad + put on more clothes.
Personally i use a winter incubator all year round(except...
Welcome to the most tax plagued nation in the world...... Denmark! Everything is expensive here + everything you earn is taxed at least 40%(and everything you sell is taxed 25%).
That´s why it's...
Something like this?

DOH! Too late, that's what you get when you spend time on the trail:rolleyes::D
But thanks for the heads up dragon360;)
Oh well, still looking.....
Good to have another Dane aboard, velkommen til ;-)
How about making(diy'ing) a tarp tent specifically for two hammock stands then? Using the stands as tent poles with the gigantic tarp over them.... Lots of privacy, clothing, cooking area etc.
If it's big enough, why not make a Turtle Lady stand? Then you need no holes in the tent and no need to find trees spaced perfectly for both hammock + tent and the missus can sleep "indoor" :)
Speechless....... Very nicely thought out and executed:thumbup1:
Edit: How is the lay of the cuben?
Your welcome ;)
It's a tensegrity stand(i believe it's spelled like that) Presumably conceived by either MacEntyre or WV(member's here)
So very nice up there, nothing beats that beautiful scenery - seen from a hammock :)
Thanks for taking us along.
Let's just say i can't get it out of my head, really wanted to join this year but finances wasn't up to it, + i have something to prove to my self ;-) (that being disabled doesn't mean you can't be...
How was the legs after the 2k climb? :D Love those "curly" trees, looks kind of magical to me.
And boy do i have to step up my trail cooking! really cool with the bake off, was that just standard...
Now that's inspiring!.... Hmmm feel an urge to go out and buy some new climbing gear and do this. :)
What is the battery time on the Mot.? I need something that can play music and videos for a loooooong time.
If it's a 32gb.... sell it to me;):D
Wow... bad case of tarp envy suddenly!
That's a mighty fine tarp you acquired there, and Adam and Jenny's work is absolutely amazing... congrats on your new gear. :)
Absolutely possible, check out this link it's used in mountain marathons where small packsize and weight is vital for results. But it could be used as your idea(i like the mylar balloon idea). :)
...
If you can't get rid of the ridge, try putting a fleece shirt under the area.
If that fails, try using a pad(i have a exped dam, which -when in the hammock- completely removes any pressure) It does...
That just goes to show how (not) clued up i am :lol:
Is the Lapland ultra100 on for 2012?
I use my winter incubator indoor every night(around 70), i just use a light blanket as a top quilt when indoors. YMMV....
Just don't hang it as tight and leave the ends open for max ventilation.
