I'd add some twigs u7nder the Amsteel to protect the tree... just didn't want to be the first to try hanging half and half with Amsteel and webbing.

Scenario would be.... massive trees that are too big for my 7' webbing tree huggers... so I break out the double eye...

I use marine grade 316 stainless 1" rings... (available from online chandlerys)

Rated to 3527 lbs and less than a buck each.

They weigh about 13 grams each.

I switched from 1" kevlar webbing and stainless shackles to polyester 1.5 ton tie down straps and stainless rings for my suspension.

The rings are rated at 1600 kilos...
