Very enjoyable hang. Food was excellent and the company was even better.

Very enjoyable hang. Food was excellent and the company was even better.
I can only say maybe due to possible family obligations. But it is a strong maybe.
Very good time and very good company. Cannot wait until next year. Hope to see everyone that was there again next year, and hopefully many more. Thanks to Jason, Troy, and Ryan for all the hard...
This was the best so far. Attendance was down but the weather was good. I enjoyed visiting with everyone that was there, and missed some that I had met at the last event. Hope to see everyone next...
This is going to be one for the books. Last year's hang was amazing. The cooking was out of this world, only possible in Louisiana. I may be biased, but Cajun Cuisine can only be found in...
i am going to try to make it . . .
I don't have a problem with mid-march nsdemon. Keep me posted.
outstanding snowiness . . . :)
Not weather you experience in my part of the country . . . but I would like to try it one day where it snows . . . Thanks Shug . . .
the best i can do, while scratching my head, is to say "huh?" but very entertaining . . .
great pictures. i like that campsite.
enjoyable video, as usual.
you are very welcome . . . :)
I would say that the 2nd Annual Louisiana Fall Hang was a success. Thanks to Ryan (Granger) for helping me with the hog roasting. It was the first time I have used a cajun microwave. Troy's...
i am waiting for Jazilla to begin the trip report thread before posting my pics, but i want to say thank you to everyone that came. i enjoyed meeting every one of you. it was a great time for me...

looking good . . . over 50 people signed up to attend . . . i just confirmed a door prize and i want to thank Tyler Hicks with The Backpacker for donating a hammock. The Backpacker has stores in...
here i go again . . . the weather is looking good for the hang. cool nights and not so hot days . . . yes, i realize 10 day forecasts can be inaccurate . . . even 10 minutes ones can be . . . ...
years ago i used to base my camping on the weather forecast. i would usually be at home during the great weather and camping in the mucky weather. so . . . i don't really pay that much attention. ...
it is hard to believe that the hang is less than two weeks away. i just looked at the ten day forecast and friday is showing . . .
low of 60 and high of 86 with a 0% chance of rain . . . looks...
i'll be fine as long as i don't see any bear poop.
wow! what a pace. hope your cousin is ok. can't wait for part two.
congratulations dutch ! ! ! ! ! !
someone PLEASE bring fig preserves
there is one restroom for all. it is very well maintained by the forest service. needs a light at night. i would recommend bringing extra tp.
Evangeline Camp is on Messina Road, Forest Road 273. Messina Road can be accessed from West La 28 or La 488. Hope to see you there.
Everything is on track for a great weekend. I am also very excited about this event. It should be a best ever.
i have never seen hunters in this area. i would think a good hunter would pick an area away from hikers/bikers if he wanted to bag a deer, etc. but it is a good possibility someone might be hunting...
New Orleans Blend . . . delicious. Lots of cream, lots of sugar.
i drank CDM for years. if i am not mistaken, CDM is the brand that is sold in stores, but is the same as Cafe du Monde coffee you buy at the coffee stand by the same name in New Orleans. Good old...
butter and brown sugar for sure. and real butter, not margarine . . . i trust a cow more than a chemist.
Kincaid Lake is close to the Evangeline Camp. I am not sure of the exact distance. A few miles perhaps. The boat landing is on the same road as the Evangeline Camp. Jazilla could probably be more...
we are doing our best to put our hang on the map. several of us are doing traditional louisiana recipes to share. i was going to do a breakfast, but now planning cochon de lait saturday night. it...
great videos SS.
without giving anything away prematurely, i want to say this is going to be our best hang. jazilla will be announcing all the plans as october nears. nothing is timed or regimented, but there will...
you are not alone . . .
97 thousand acres . . . should be enough room. seriously, i am sure the immediate area can support many, many hangers. just keep moving down the trail. there are no designated camping areas. the...
sure perked up a blue monday . . . thanks shug . . .
Update . . . Tyler said that The Backpacker will be donating a Grand Trunk Hammock and hanging kit to be awarded as a door prize at our hang. Thanks again Tyler.
Tyler Hicks, Operations Manager at The Backpacker, has agreed to post our event on their website, www.BackpackerLA.com. Thanks Tyler. :)
about 85 miles. I-49 makes it a fast trip.
that is too bad. they have a great inventory. if you are down for the hang it would be worth a trip to see the store.
sent email just now thanking them for promoting our hang . . .
you must bring you own.

Cannot wait to see everyone again.
We are planning a hang for October on the Wild Azalea Trail. The Spring hang was a great success with good attendance. We are planning good Louisiana food and fellowship. Don't miss it.
