900 fp. No overstuff.
Getting a Summer sent as soon as Matt can do it with 1 oz overstuff.
Truthfully, this UQ is just better than advertised.

I've used it on the Bartram, the AT and the Foothills Trail. I have seen the thermometer say 8F at 8AM, after having been warm all night.
This is likely the best piece of gear I've owned....
Thanks. :)
If you have not dealt with Adam, you should. He gave the best CS that I've ever experienced.
I just made a 3-layer TQ with IX. At 13 oz., I'm willing to work with it. I whipped the bottom and used some shock cord and a XS S-Biner to attach the whipped end to the foot of the hammock. My gosh,...
Also known as dress lining. Ask at the front door, and they'll point you right at it.
Where did you find the WBBB pattern? I've made a number of hammocks, and would really like to try that one.
I made one from dress liner material. Two ounces more, but much cheaper and I made it myself! :-)
I'm such a male. My first reaction was to notice the beautiful smile on your wife. Lucky man.
And, oh yeah: I'm just a bit jealous that you got to bike in CO. :-)
And please start selling 1.5" Dutch clips when you return! :-)
About that trade you spoke of earlier? This was what I was going to see if you were interested trading. :-)
In the SE US, Summer gear is really 3-season gear.
Two lines of stitches, 1/2" or so apart. Cut between them. Very minimal loss.
Thanks a lot!
If you decide to switch to wanting a Rainbow, give me a PM. I'm off the ground permanently, and this tent is like new.
Remember, remember, the real game's in November. :-)
Y'all won last year. Now we get to win a few in a row, right? :D
Count me as another that won't buy anything without knowing what it weighs. But I'm pretty mellow, even when caffeine loaded. :-)
It surely is easy to sell a Hennessy, isn't it? I've sold two in the last three months!
Reason enough! Lets go!
I just sold a like-new Hennessy, tarp, webbing and everything for less than that. Look in the for-sale section or EBay.
I use permethrin on my hammock and netting. Works perfectly. Re-apply every Spring.
High-class work, young man!
I wasn't going to mention any negativity. The positive vibes around here are almost non-existent in the world of internet forums!
Hope it still works in a couple of days. I want to buy about 200 feet. Saving a couple of bucks here and there is a nice hobby! My wife has a saying about going a bit overboard when there's a big...
Whiteblaze.net. Resides on the same server as this site. Not really a hammock forum, but there is a hammock section.
I have two 15' straps (Red poly. 1500 lb), 2 buckles (self centering climbing-type) and two carabiners (Treklight, 23g apiece) that I had planned on selling along with another hammock.
If you need...
I read through about a gazillion posts after I asked. :-)
Thanks!
I'm hoping to order 10 yards from Storm Crow this weekend, if he has that much left.
What is IX? I find it in a lot of threads, but no definition. Thanks!
I used it to repair my POE Ether 6 insulated mattress. Works GREAT. Looks kind of ugly if it's not covered, but no big deal. And besides, you'll be covering it. Warning: it increases in size about...
I need to replace a ridgeline, and I don't know the exact length. The old one popped sometime ago, and I replaced it with 3mm orange rope. I have some black 550 paracord to do it right, and just...
I make homemade Reflectix that might actually be better than the real thing. Inner layer is HD Al foil. Then a layer of bubble wrap, a layer of mylar, a layer of bubble wrap and a layer of standard...
Check our respective join dates. :D
What were your total costs, if you don't mind me asking?
I would love to get some hardy souls to walk to the other end of Jocassee with me sometime. It's 17 miles from Bad Creek to Canebrake. 13 miles from Laurel Valley. Gorges state park has primitive...
Where did you get the triangles?
At least you don't leave Lekis at the trail head. That company has to love me!
I sewed that end extremely close to the clip. It would have to be cut out. No way that it will come loose on its own!
My SEWING MACHINE is an $89.00 Brother that I bought five years or more ago. It still works great. Straight, zigzag and reverse is all it does. The adjustments available are thread tension, stitch...
Caveat: I live in 2.5 acres of woods. I have permanent stands everywhere. Therefore, the above is just a what-if type of in-head design.
I used to be a toolmaker. I never quite got to the point of...
IMO, the simplest idea to make a strong, simple hammock stand would be ~6' tall with a pole running between. 4x4, .080 treated, ground-contact lumber should work perfectly. 2' depth should be plenty....
The reason is likely that used stuff normally sells for 1/2 new price. Having said that, if you can get more then go ahead on!
I think he probably was. He was selling TH straps with the lack of damage and ease of use as co-selling points 5 years ago when I got my 1st HH. I think.
Send me webbing, I'll return it as straps. I LIKE to make stuff!
Dutch: I sewed the loop on the Dutch-clip end of my latest tree huggers close enough that the clip will never fall out and get...
I can't beleive it. Tom and I agree on something!
You must not have been here long. This place is full of engineers, physicist and retired toolmakers. :-)
I've switched in the last two weeks to Dutch clips, Whoopie slings and homemade 5' tree huggers. That let me permanently attach the clips and sling to the tree huggers. There's definitely less chance...
I permanently attached mine to the tree huggers. But I guess now I know what the bead is for. I thought it was for easier unloading of the constrictor!
Mine is "reversed." Though I can't see that it matters. The fixed end is attached to the hammock. That lets me adjust in the rain without getting wet.
I just go to the "real" fabric store. Tonight, I bought enough stuff to make a Summer-weight under- and over-quilt for 78 dollars!
When did you come towards the light, Ray? :-)
Never knew you were a hanger.
Jocassee rocks, unless it's too far away. Hiking up around that sucker in the Jocassee Gorges is one of my favorite things in life. Give it a try sometime. There's also a LOT less boat traffic.
Go with the 6' set. I bought 8-footers, and that was just too much. I made 5' tree huggers from Speer webbing and use dutch clips. I permanently attached the adjustable loop into the hugger by sewing...
I was just about to offer you a Speer Winter tarp for 75+shipping. :-)
