Howdy. Looks like we are well represented here. :)
Jump on in man. It's a lot of fun and the sleep is fantastic. Do you have any pics you could post of the areas you camp in Japan?
It's been a while since I hiked this trail. There are some small streams but the only ones I remember are at the end of the loop where the CBT joins the Bear Hair Gap Trail. Try calling Vogel about...
It's about 4 hours the way we went. You can shave about 30 minutes off of that if you take the interstate but we preferred a more scenic route. The only downside to that trail is there aren't many...
We finally made the trip to Brevard and hiked the Art Loeb Trail from the Black Balsam parking lot off of BRP to Shining Rock and back via the Ivester Trail. Those were some spectacular views. Thanks...
I love this. It's my winter project to do something similar to this. You have inspired me.
I will wear mine with pride.
We ended up going to Highlands instead and found a nice hike down there. We will make Brevard in the near future. Thanks all for the suggestions.
I agree. I use this setup and it's super light and easy to set up. If you haven't used a toggle before look at Shug's video on the correct way to use one.
Thanks for the suggestions. I'm not yet sure which trail we will hike but this gives us some good trails to look into.
We have a rare long weekend coming up and are planning to spend it in Brevard, NC. We have one day set aside for a hike but we don't know much about Pisgah so looking for some suggestions. It needs...
Nice. I've never camped there. I like the way you have the 2 hammocks rigged off the same trees.
I have camped at Grayson Highlands many times, both in a tent and a hammock, and woke at night to the sound of the ponies grazing their way through my campsite. They never chewed on anything of mine....
I love my Ridge Runner. I have the WB Lynx and the fit is perfect.
I have hammock camped there on two previous occasions without issue. I had looked all over their website for any mention of hammocks and found nothing. Hammocks are becoming more popular and I...
I love that trail. It's not terribly difficult compared to other trails in N GA. I believe the highest elevation on the whole trail is around 1600' and no steep ups and downs. Also there is a lot of...
That looks like a lot of fun. Thanks for sharing.
Welcome. Lots of GA folks here.
Nice workmanship. I checked out your photobucket pics. I like your gear room.
I love my WBRR. Enjoy.
I'm interested. I probably won't be able to attend all days but hopefully one or two nights.
I just ordered a 20 degree. Can't wait for some cold weather hanging.
I just ordered a 20 degree Ghost Pepper. Your comments about yours gave me the push to go with Loco Libre. I too wanted extra foot room and the wide with no taper seemed to be the way to go. I'm...
This was my second trip with the Ridge Runner and the first with the Lynx UQ. The fit was perfect. No adjustments just clip on and you're all set. Temps got down into the mid 40's but I was perfectly...
I'm interested. Also I would like to up my cold weather camping game if anyone is interested.
Until recently I have been using that arrangement in an ENO DN. My 20" BA air mattress doesn't cover my shoulders so I used a short piece of 24" wide CCF under my head and shoulders. Worked ok for a...
Welcome. A good hang that I would recommend is Wolf Laurel Top on the AT. From Neel Gap hike north or south from Tesnatee Gap. Water is about 3/4 mile south. Good views.
I've had my Superfly for 2 years but up until 2 days ago had never used the tie outs. It started to rain hard just as I got to camp so I pitched the fly first then set up the hammock. Except for...
My Ridgerunner arrived today. Less than 2 weeks after ordering it. I'll get a chance to try it out this weekend. Can't wait to sleep in it.
The Superfly is a great tarp. You won't be sorry with it. Good coverage even in hard rain. There are videos on Warbonnets website specifically for that tarp. No disrespect meant for anyone here but...
I did. It's shipping USPS and the tracking number is not showing up on the USPS website yet.
Mine shipped today. 8 days since ordering. Not bad. Looks like I will have it for my trip this weekend.
I have used mine in some hard rain showers and it always keeps me dry. Great coverage. Enjoy.
Today makes a week since I ordered a RR. I hoped I would be one of the lucky ones that got it in a few days. The status still says "awaiting fulfillment". I have a trip planned for next weekend so I...

Does he send out a shipping notification when the order ships? I bought a Superfly a couple years ago but don't remember if I got notification of shipping.
I have been thinking about a Ridgerunner for over a year. Finally ordered one on Monday. Of course now the wait is killing me. Hoping for the same fast shipping time.
REI Outlet usually has some good deals on closeouts. Backpacks are one of your most important pieces of equipment. If it doesn't fit properly you could be miserable.
My first hang was one of the best nights I have ever spent in the woods in 40+ years. Enjoy it.
I was camping at Mt Rogers last year for Perseids and it was my first year to see them. For anyone that has not seen it you should make a point to get out and see them. It is spectacular. Enjoy.
I am happy to wait if it means supporting a small company and it's made in the USA. The quality of my Superfly was outstanding.
You will need a backcountry camping permit and pay a $4 per night per person fee. The permit process is pretty simple and you can apply online up to 30 days before the first night of your trip. I...
My Superfly is awesome. It rained on my first time out with it and I stayed dry and comfy. I am very pleased.
Since spring I have been using all of my available time to hike as much of the AT as I can. I have a goal to finish it in 10 years. Up until this point I have been a tent and shelter camper. Saturday...
My Superfly arrived yesterday. The workmanship is excellent. I'm leaving this morning for my first hang. No time to try it in the backyard but I have been reading and watching videos enough that I am...
Lots of GA people here. I was born and spent 13 years in Columbus then 13 more years in Albany. I am in Marietta now.
I go to the post office late at night. I'm sure they have cameras there and must be wondering what I am doing.
I got my shipping notification today. It should be here Friday. I'm leaving before dawn Saturday for a 2 day trip. That's cutting it close. :)
I have a trip coming up this weekend and hope to have mine by then. Ordered it on July 3.
