Yep, off by a factor of 10. 0.6% permethrin from concentrate
I use permethrin and love it. I spray all of my gear and kids gear before the summer scout camping season and it lasts throughout.
The sawyer works well, but is EXPENSIVE!
I recently found...
I've had a few. . . Out camping with cub scouts a number of years ago, we had some storms come in. Nothing forcasted other than light showers, but in the middle of the night, I was quickly dropped...
I have one that I made of Sil that I use as a pack cover while packing and then attach whoopies to hang it under my hammock. This does require me to hang a bit higher off the ground but it makes it...
Welcome Jim! I forgot to tell you that this becomes addictive!
Welcome from a Suamico Hanger. Been hanging for over a year through warm and cold, wet and snow. I LOVE hammock camping and really have no plans to go to ground again.
Many of my Webelos are...
David, it is held in the Donating member section as it is for camping gear that is not specifically hammock related.
I had hung with my son under the same 11' Hex tarp until we got a nasty rain storm this summer. We stayed dry, but couldn't close the doors on the winward side, Luckily we didn't get wet, but we were...
I need the time to engineer all of the other strange ideas that you put in my head! I'm telling my wife that it's all your fault!:D
I live in Wisconsin, not much better. I think that the season that we need these is shorter than the battery life.
Mouses, we didn't need these a few weeks ago with all of the wind...
I use these in my hammock. it is not rechargeable, but does provide circulation throughout the night. It has a small light and ridgeline clip. While the blades are open, they are foam and don't cause...
While there are a lot of variables to be considered, I've been very happy with mine. I have the 0* and haven't gotten it that cold yet, I did have it to 22* with 40 knot winds and was snug as a bug....
Spike,
I am also a noob, out dating you on the forums by mere months. We can all contribute here, first by learning, next by gratitude and then eventually by being able to add our own experiences...
I think that you should go out and hang to calm down. . . even if your calm a good night hanging in nature will make anyone feel better.
+1 on the Velcro, but I'd place a piece of grosgrain on the bottom of both doors to tie, Velcro can be easily pulled apart by tarp tension.
Thank you also to Hangnout and 2Sticks, their generosity has brought the smiles to these children's faces that have brightened all of us today. This simple act of kindness is touching many more...
pm's sent to those that requested for the dog bone.
I used Raiffnuke's plans for the hat, but I made the three separate pockets and then did most of the quilting to them individually before...
Thanks everyone for the support!
I sent Fish <>< a pm with the pattern for the Dogbone pillow. Since it comes from a non hammock related site I'm not sure if I should place the hyperlink here, but...
Retired from corporate America nearly 10 years ago to be the At-Home-Dad for my children. We have hosted many foster children and I've now been the "Dad" to 16 kids.
Now the kids are in school and...
Dutch & Eagle Eye could offer lessons to many other businesses on Customer Service! I have found that all of the cottage vendors that I've worked with have attended his classes. I have never dealt...
The plans for the hat came from Raiffnuke and can be found at this thread

Both my son and I are happy with the outcome.
Thanks...
After borrowing most of my hammock gear to a friend for use this weekend I remembered that I was also planning on hanging. Not having the heart to say "Give it all back" I began a DIY-athon.
My...
I had received my new incubator just hours before leaving for a weekend of hanging in Northern Michigan. The first night had winds 30-40 knots, I spent only about 5 minutes dialing in the UQ (It fit...
Make sure to take the keys out of the vehicles!

DeNial is not just a river in Egypt ;) I'm really jonesing for some time with a thread injector and fluffy feathers. :D
I was dropped to the ground with the M90 MR sl, and I weighed 214.2 immediately after the fall. I won't be taking that chance again.
I'm not sure of the weight of the Nano.
We should start a 12 step thread.
"Hi, I'm Dad, and I'm an addict!" :)
The kids are in school now (Yeah) so I have two new tarps, two TQ's to make and a 0* UQ along with some modifications,...
My first DIY was a Hennessy Tribute and, like you, I followed the threads here to make the hammock.
I have dual zippers so that the net can be removed entirely. I did find that zippers of that...
Congratulations. You are a pleasure to do business with! You have become and will remain a part of every DIY that I do! I am happy to see your innovation and integrity rewarded!
I do lay diagonal, as otherwise there is still a bow shape at the perpendicular. There is a bit of fold up around the head (which I just flop over my eyes to block light at no weight) and it leaves a...
While I use 60" units while camping. I did pick up the 90 for every night sleeping at home. I find that it's similar to a king size bed, not everyone likes them, but I do.
The 90 gives me a number...
I am not in, but want to thank you very much for your offer, This is very generous!
If I could please enter GottaRun. . . He's at Woodbadge with Boy Scouts this weekend and won't be able to enter....
As I lay in my hammock I notice that there is quite a bit of wall raised on the opposite side (I sleep shoulder left and the right side extended quite high, same with the opposing leg side). Thinking...
Swankfly had an excellent suggestion in this post (http://www.hammockforums.net/forum/showthread.php?t=53536) suggesting that we create a thread where we can all place our Top Mods.
This excellent...

Could you just take two layers of noseeum net and sew through at intervals, then attach it to the edge of your ripstop, no sewing in the middle. Once it's inside the ripstop, open the "Pockets"...
Warbonnet has a pretty good listing for the proper fabric weights for your weight. I tried to go ultra-light and was gravity fed to the ground. I have a 1.1 +Momentum 90 MR double, a 1.7 single, 1.7...

I've done this many times with my son on the same trees (separate suspension) but used old golf shafts as a spreader bar. We both lay the same way the hammock so we were parallel.
I am, however,...
Because to this point, I've always needed the attached bug net while camping, I've always used side pull outs to give me some movement room without feeling like a fish in a net. I have used my prior...
The screen along the side is a sewn in organizer, similar to the ridgeline organizer, but attached to the side. I placed this to take advantage of the large wall space on the side opposite my lay....
Got it finally. Thanks for the help.
Loaded them all as a gallery, changed pointers. no joy.
After crashing and burning with an earlier attempt at this hammock, I introduce the Phoenix DIY as it rose from the ashes.
