Earlier this year I was looking for a place in the south western adirondacks to camp for a couple of days. A member on here recommended Chub Pond. He was kind enough to supply me with some maps and...
That was outrageously relevant.
Thank you sir. You are a gentleman and a scholar.
Right, I said "anchor" and I can see how that would sound like putting eye bolts in or something but in reality I'd just be using webbing and whoopies.
Thanks for the input.
Anyone around here know anything about telephone poles?
I don't have many trees around the house but what I do have is 1 tree 15ft away from a telephone pole in my front yard.
Hypothetically, think...
I'll take the 20° incubator.
I'll PM you as well.
I use the 15L Outdoor Research Ultra Light compression sack for my 20° TQ and UQ.
After compression its about half that.
Taken just off trail on the FLT in CNY.
First time testing whoopies as well. :boggle:

Do you think the poncho would work well with other hammocks?
After a bunch of new gear came in the mail my buddy and I once again decided we should head out into state land and set up shop for a night.
I got to test the new superfly, hammock gear UQ, BRS-8...
Honestly mine is probably over 1k as well but my wife was hover over my shoulder when I was typing ;)
Interesting thought.
But don't get the wrong idea. I'm a very outdoorsy person to begin with. I grew up on a farm, I hunt, camp, and all that jazz so I am well acquainted with the woods and...
Hmmmm.. recently?
In January, on a whim I decided I wanted to get in to backpacking and hiking with hammock gear.
Ended up spending 1k in about a week on all of the gear I thought I would need....
Do you think it would be the same story if you didn't have the 2oz of over stuff in there?
This is the method we used on equipment tarps around the farm. I've never applied it on a lightweight camping camping tarp but I'm sure it should work fine.
Late spring/early summer
One place I found elsewhere that we just added to the list is Chub Pond....
Me and 2 of my friends would like to take a trip over to the ADK park and camp a couple of nights. We would be coming from the west on I90 through Utica so to save trip time we want to just barely...
Thanks for adding your experience.
I wanted to get a UQ that I could use all year long and any trips below 20° would only make up about 5% of my yearly total. So I wouldn't mind carrying a tad bit...
Thanks for all the input.
It actually might have had a bit of snow on it but definitely didn't have snow up the entire length of it.
Thanks, I'll research that.
I watch your channel...
Enjoyed every second of it and even though it reached 0° over night I kept comfortable.I learned a lot of things and have a lot of questions.
My friend and I have been batting the idea back and...
