Quilt is sold.
All PM's answered in the order they were received. Quilt still available.
I bought this UQ at the Labor Day Sale. Three season. Reversible - camo/coyote brown. It is in as new condition - I used it two nights hanging on my porch. Just looking to get my original...
Nice work Ed!
My son's set-up was to leave the bed set-up as a bunk bed, put the mattress on the floor, (use the bed itself as a high storage shelf) and hang a hammock diagonally on the bunk frame. He's 6'3" and...
Thanks for posting this. Looks like a great trip and in beautiful country. Glad the "adventure" turned out okay.
Hi,
Any idea of the weight? Homemade or ?
since I don't get to go out nearly as much as I'd like to, I go regardless of the weather - to a point - I'm not messing with Irene when she visit's New England this weekend, but then again, I can't...
Yes, this is what I was thinking. I'm looking forward to playing around with the combination - ideally I would end up with a summer quilt, a three season quilt that will do me for spring, fall, and...
Just wondering whether stacking these two might get me down to the 0 (F) temp range. I'm always looking for versatility, and with three kids in college, have a true need to economize... I'm a warm...
When I made my hammock I found that it went okay as long as I took my time;)
Yukon, I'll be in touch; probably late September/early October for that one.
Thanks. The section south of Stratton Mountain to the southern terminus is on my to-do list before the snow flies this year so maybe I'll see you out there.
Congratulations on your birthday, what a great way to celebrate it. I'll bet the show was great from up there, glad to hear the bear didn't spoil it.
Yeah, I wish you could have made it, hopefully next time. Yes, that little stream was very nice, there were a few "locals" there too. Okay on the hike before the snow flies - am hoping to get out...
I did a solo trip on a southern portion of the Long Trail/AT in Vermont from July 22 to 24 of this year. I debated which direction to do the hike, and in the end decided to go SOBO. It's been a...
me too please
I just might too..
Will do Yukon, maybe mid/late July. I've got another two-day trip at the end of next week, but I'm not in a position to extend any invitations this time as I am joining friends who had this trip...
That's great Yukon! I wish I could say the same. I'm hoping to get a few weekends on the trail by the end of the summer and hopefully a little more time off in the fall... all depends on filling an...
The sighting did spur some interesting conversation the rest of the trip...:D
Chris, I actually spliced-in footage from last year when the sun used to shine for more than one day at a time. If you look closely, you will see that we look a little older on the second day:lol: ...
Thanks for the replies. I've got my nylon for a DIY hammock that I plan to make and use in the "non-bug" weather of fall to early spring. The peapod approach doesn't work with the WBBB, but seems...
Happy Father's Day to you too Cranky Bear and to all the other Dad's out there as well. Being a father has been the most rewarding experience of my life - I couldn't ask for a better family, I have...
I'd like to take advantage of the HG sale. I already own a Summer Phoenix, which I purchased used from a fellow HF member, and I love it. I have stayed warm into the high 40's with that and a 2QZQ...
Congratulations, sounds like you have a wonderful family, that's a great Father's Day gift!
I'm a warm sleeper too. Last weekend I took a summer phoenix & 2QZQ UQP, with foot pad and light summer sleeping bag as top quilt down into the 40's - and woke up with the pad on top of my feet and...
Thanks lazy, we had a great time in spite of the rain. Parts of the Long Trail can be challenging, especially in bad weather; sorry about your knees, maybe you'll give it another shot some day?
6 ft on the corners, 12 ft on the panel pull-outs - I move the panel pull-out guy lines to the corners when in porch mode.
A loop starting at Lincoln Woods Visitor Center near Lincoln, about 31 miles around/through the Pemigewasset Wilderness. Some 4000 and 5000 foot peaks and great views included.

I hiked a section of the Long Trail last weekend with a buddy of mine and an old college friend of his. They've been working on hiking the entire trail in sections for a couple of years and invited...
God bless you and your family as you move so gracefully and courageously through this stage of your existence. Thank you for your example and the influence you are having on so many of us at this...
I wish I'd seen this thread yesterday. I measured my DN at 105" too and made a ridge line out of zing-it in two parts - one a small whoopie sling that adjusts from about 6 to 12 inches and the rest...
Many sleeping bags have a double zipper so you can open the foot end for ventilation. You can pass the hammock through the same opening. The biggest problem I've experienced when trying this is...
I've got a UQP and Peak Bag on order - I did the breathable version. I've seen nothing but glowing comments on 2QZQ products so I'm confident they are going to be top quality.
Welcome from just across the river.
I'll be doing some sections of the LT this summer and fall, maybe we can compare notes...
I'm new to hammocks too, and I have gleaned a wealth of information...
same story here - ended up pulling the red & green thread out after building the whoopie. I, too, had the green and the silver and noticed something else in my samples - the silver feels much...
One option is to do the ends Warbonnet style then add whoopie slings. See Knotty's thread on making a gathered end hammock in the DIY forum for details.
Actually, I think this has interesting possibilities... going to have to think more about it and maybe experiment a little.
And congrats on the hammock build Boone, looks great.
Got both the hooks and flyz last week. Perfect fit with 1.75 zing-it, and yes... almost as light as just tying a knot;)
can't find weights of these on the website. Anybody know?
Hammock camping is new to me so I've been reading, listening, watching everything around here - driving my wife nuts.... but oh well.:)
I've spent a few nights in a hammock in the basement this...
+1 on shane's guyline method, light, easy, glow-in-the-dark...
check out this link on Knotty's method of making a gathered end hammock - within the instructions are directions for a warbonnet style end. That's what I'm going to do with my DN then add whoopie...
I sure wish I could make it down there this weekend - it was going to be my first group hang, and I was looking forward to seeing different hammocks and set-ups, etc. Oh well....
congrats! I've got the same hammock and I love it. I, too, am looking forward to pics of the Edge tarp...
As you can see, it appears that you just have to keep on experimenting until you find the solution - or not. Hammocks aren't for everybody, at least that's what I've read here and there. So... to...
they are in the Walmart stores, at least around here (NH/VT) border area
I sometimes look at my dog's leash and wonder if a 3/4" polypro leash would work - built-in loop and all....
