Me neither from what I'd seen of his videos and interactions on here, but 130 people donated to his kickstarter (myself included) and all anyone got was a sticker.
Thanks for the answer. He didn't seem like the sort of person to rip off so many people but you never can tell. He seems to have disappeared from everywhere and turned off commenting on his youtube...
Sorry to bring this thread back from the dead but I've just remembered that I was scammed out of money by Fronkey's kickstarter for this trip as were a lot of other people. Did anyone get in touch...
Uk hammocks is the only stockist in the UK and Europe I believe. Mat did get some warbonnet stock in Wednesday and I ordered my Superfly yesterday, shocked they're out of stock so soon.
Drop Mat...
Thought I recognised your name. Theres quite a few members over here too. :)
Hello and welcome from Kent. Are you on BCUK too?
I've had one for a few years. It is a double layer hammock with a zip down one side so you can sleep inside the hammock, sort of like a cocoon hung between trees. Its great but I have a tendency to...
I've got my hands on some of these too. What a great idea, makes my tarp doors easier to work with and I can foresee a lot more uses for them too. My hammocking life keeps getting easier thanks to...
I just placed an order, 15 minutes later had shipping confirmation. Amazing service!
Looks great, would be very interested in a camo version or maybe black. How will you be selling them and will you post to the UK?
Excellent idea for them, I've got a box full of them at work.
Excellent video. Can't wait for the next installment of your adventure.
Thats a lot more than I thought it might be. Will have to give it a miss this time, sorry.
I'd like one in sage size large please. If you'll post to the uk.
I had some figure 9s and didn't like them and they felt flimsy. Got some dutch flyz and they are amazing, very solid and holds the line really well. I always felt the figure 9s needed a back up knot...
Congratulations Fronkey and Tala. Will look forward to seeing the videos! Have a great rest, you've both earned it! :)
I have tied a piece of orange paracord round the gathered part of the head end.
Tyvek looks like a popular choice, will look into it. Shame it comes mainly in white though, the black is quite expensive and doesnt seem to be available in the uk. Thanks for all the info guys.
I've been wanting to use a groundsheet (launchpad as some call it) under my hammock for a while. I think it would be nice to have a dry and mud free sheet to step onto in the morning.
Does anyone...
I got some whoopies from Dutchware, when they arrived one was green and the other black. I thought it was a bit strange but then figured out it was so you would know which end was which just by...
I knew I was forgetting something. My original plan was to use a loop to connect to biners and connect them to the tree straps, just forgot about them when I asked the question.
Thanks everybody. I was going to just use a double overhand loop. But will give splicing a try. As its only going to be used as a chair hammock, I'll make sure I'm quite low to the ground when...
I will be using the loop to attach a dutch biner and then wrap the amsteel round a tree a few times and clip the biner back onto the amsteel, so it shouldnt be taking my whole weight.
This will be...
Just wondered what the best knot to use to tie a loop in the end of some amsteel? It does need to take weight but I dont want it to be bulky. Would a single overhand loop do the job?
Good luck to you both. Really looking forward to the videos.
I'm in. Thank you.
Hi Stuart and welcome from another UK hanger, Im in Kent. :)
Mine is tree straps with dutch clips to whoopies using a marlin spike and toggles. Quick and easy to set up and much lighter than the standard webbing my hammock came with.
You're right, I've recently taken delivery of a second set of dutch clips and some ridgeline biners and then placed another order the same day for some more straps and a hangle! I just cant resist....
Top quilt, under quilt and a new tarp superfly or a cuben fibre.
I either store mine under my hammock on a small tarp or hang it from its own tree strap with a rucksack cover on.
Hi Neil and welcome from Kent. :)
I thought they were just on ebay. I must admit the tarp with doors does look good and a nice price too.
I joined just before christmas and became a donating member on monday. Didnt know there was a section just for donating members! :)
Excellent videos, looks like a great trip. Thanks for sharing. :)
Hello and welcome from another UK hanger. :)
Great pics and videos. Looks like a great time. thanks for sharing.
I've only just started using toggles after watching Shug's video (on the knot, not the toggle!) and find the marlin spike very simple, quick and the toggles are only a few grams.
Thanks for the quick answer, it all makes sense now. :)
I'll be a bit more thoughtful when hanging in future as it appears that a wrong angle puts loads of stress on the tree and suspension and as a...
It may be a silly question (I do apologise but I'm curious to know and you guys are the best to ask), but why is the 30 degree hang angle so important? Is it to do with the sag on the hammock or not...
Just checked and hangles are available at Dutchware now. :)
I've got some of these http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Thermal-tent-booties-foot-warmers-Quilted-Army-Surplus-/330550242224, I've only tried them in the house quickly but think they'll be great in a...
I'm a relative newbie to this forum too and have asked a couple of simple questions and have got sensible answers (other forums I have been on asking simple questions results in being basically...
I just got mine from whoopieslings.com, at least I know it won't fall apart like it probably would if I tried to make one and the service is excellent.
I had been hammocking a few times (mostly being cold and uncomfortable) and found that setting up a hammock and tarp was such a pain, then I found The Ultimate Hang and read it from cover to cover...
The directions cards are great and just shows how much thought Dutch puts into his products and customer service. Its a slippery slope though, it starts off with some stingerz and hooks and then you...
I'm loving anything Dutch at the moment, but especially Ti Dutch clips.
Excellent idea, simple and cheap. Will be grabbing a handful of elastic bands from work to try that out.
Thanks for sharing. :)
Thanks for that. Should keep me busy for a while.:)
