The Kammok is still my favorite single layer hammock for lounging around. They came out with a limited edition Earth Day Roo (a Forrest Green color).

Here's some photos. Temps in the 50s for daytime, 27* to 29* overnight.

Well, we went over on Friday only to find the lousiest conditions ever. It looked ready to rain at any moment. It was overcast and the ground was soaked; really, really soaked. The creek had...
No one else showed up, so you didn't miss much; however, we still had a great time! I'll add some details in the trip report section.
My buddy & I will be going, along with up to 4 teens & maybe my wife. Easy 10 minute walk into the camping area. February 19, 20 & 21st.

Dogs are fine. Temps in years past have varied from 15 degrees up to 35 degrees overnight. Usually sunny in the afternoon, but it's Washington, right?
Well, since the one in Oregon is the first weekend, lets plan for February 19, 20, & 21. We did a great hike last year, for those of you interested. 2 miles, up, up & up.
This has usually happened in February at Umptanum Creek. Park at the parking lot, head over the footbridge and about a 10 minute walk back there is several stands of Cedar trees.

Washington Mid-winter Hang
So, any discussion on doing this, this year?
I'm available February 5, 6, 7 (which is the same weekend as the SW WA, NW Oregon one), or February 19, 20, & 21.

Monica, I hadn't seen that one yet. There are a lot of hammocks on the market though.
Looking at the photos, it appears to have the same fabric as the ENO and the Grand Trunk, but at a better...
I have used longer & shorter, wider & narrower hammocks. Longer & shorter UQs. With the wider hammocks, there is a point of diminishing returns. I don't find that I get a better diagonal, the edges...
I'm only 5'6", but I always prefer a longer hammock. I have 3 DHs, all 11', all double layer (I used to have a single layer one, but I didn't like it, sold). Two of the newer ones have Hyper D on...
I super easy hike is Barclay Lake. Very popular & crowded, but with hammocks, you can camp wherever you like, as opposed to the cleared tent sights. About 2 mike hike with couple hundred feet...
Happy Anniversary you two!
We're not far behind you. Yesterday was our 25th!
I think you'll be happy with the 12' ridgeline. The WP in camo on Hammock Gear's web site is actually mine (my photo too). I had a couple of WB Superflys (one of which I still loan out). The Superfly...

I've heard great reports of section J from friends. Snoqualmie Pass to Stevens Pass (or vice versa). I'm looking forward to trying it with a buddy when I can get more time off work. What dates were...
Looks like a great trip. Loved the frog & the fish photos.
Nice hang report. You're braver than me!
That's a new one to me. I didn't know they had lines for those sales.
That would not be a fun trip for me. No alpine snow climbing skills.
Jose, no one else is here yet. It was 29* last night & beautiful hiking weather today.
I love the MARPAT. I just got a DH a few weeks ago in it. I camped out in the woods on Sunday Night. That particular MARPAT is about the best camo I've found for the PNW woods so far.
I'm only...
I prefer 11' hammocks and last night I used a double layer as I had loaned out all my underquilts. I put an inflatable pad between the two layers, which kept it from moving around.
As far as...
No, Brian. I'd be surprised if there were any fish in Umtanum. In 2013 it was flooding everywhere and the hang the year before that it was really low & iced up.
Going about an hour east is RFC,...

Welcome from the PNW!
Becks, welcome! You might check out a group hang or meet up with a local (to you) forum member to check out some gear before you go all in on a purchase. I'd be more inclinded to the WB XLC than the...
Welcome from the PNW. Fronkey & Shug both do great videos. You might consider becoming a "Donating Member" as they have a "Paddling" forum added.
Welcome Dan from the PNW. Sounds like your Aussie tongue is quite a bit different!
Welcome from the PNW.
"Store kit"??
Welcome Dan from the PNW. Look up table cloths on the DIY forum for an easy to make hammock. I've made several ones from them. Might be able to sew up 1/2 a synthentic bag from a thrift shop and add...
I'd rather have 30 cans of stove fuel or a couple new headlamps than an ENO Vulcan.
I added little loops along the edge of my Hammock, so that I can better attach the UQ. Now you can go buy UQ hooks & just sew them on.
Changed out all the various gathered end attachment lines and...
The HG Cuben Palace. I have it in camo.
Looks comfy. You must not need an UQ.
Welcome from the PNW.
Check in closely on the classified section daily.
Why don't you just bypass the rings altogether by wadding the end together (gathered end) and then throw a hitch knot over it with your cord (Amsteel), which goes up to the tree?
Cataraft girl, I'm 5'6"/200# and I have had over 18 hammocks. To me, by far the most comfortable ones are 11'. I did a review a couple years ago "ENO vs Grand Trunk vs Kammok", if you want to look...
I don't know about cheap down UQs. You might pick up an old down bag or comforter at a thrift store and then convert it.
Paul with Arrowhead Equipment makes a relatively inexpensive synthetic ...
Get ahold of Randy (Papa Smurf) and he can build one for you as you like (Dream Hammocks). I think what you're asking for is similar to a Roaming Knome. I'd recommend the 11' length, as 11' hammocks...
Welcome from the PNW.
I have a WB Superfly, which I like; however, the cat's meow are my Hammock Gear Winter Palace(s) in camo. 12' ridgeline, doors on both ends, and a little more depth on the...

You might think about becoming a donating member, as they have a bike packing forum & a paddling forum too.
I started off with a Yeti, Jar bridge & Flamethrower (all 2/3 length or so). I could never get quite as confortable as my HG Incubator. I started with a 0* Incubator and have purchased six or seven...
Welcome from the PNW. Quite a first purchase!
I have not. I have a Hammock Gear Burrow and a couple of Go Lite quilts. Used down sleeping bags for a couple of years first. Saves some weight and I like having a sewn foot box with extra down in...
