"Malibu bikini shop" '80s movie ahead of its time... :DD
Welcome, from Nevada
Awesome adventure! Be safe and good luck!
Don't forget to look on the way back for the equipment you dropped on the way up... Heheh
I would think that the design of the pad to be stout, compact, and abrasive resistant would not inhance it's ability to provide warmth through any sort of loft.
This thread was a good heads up :)
I'm in.
Welcome, from Nevada, grew up in Gilbert
Just go to your local fire station and see if they would give you a short piece of 1 1/2" fire hose. Run your webbing through it and tie off.
I'm new too, but there are several experienced ones here.
It was 1.50 a yard. I also bought a roll of poly thread, so $11.00 or so with tax.
Not sure of the weight.
Grosgrain was $7.00 or so (I think) from hobby lobby.
I was at Walmart and found some black ripstop with some sort of white backing on it. There was about 6 1/2 yards so I bought the lot and did it up. I figure it can be a black cat tarp, or a white cat...
Why not just tidy them up by deleting sold threads?
Instead of the hole in the floor joist to attach to, could you install a post attached to the Joist and anchored the the basement floor? It looks like it wouldn't intrude on the intent of the room,...
Thanks Dan, I'm looking forward to trying it out.
Or maybe even the ClaxSnacks...
At that temperature. :0
I think I've found a good deal. Offer made and accepted
Hoping to find a UQ in time for a trip to Loveland on the 10th.
Olive or brown or black preferred. Anyone clearing a gear closet?
I wanted to make a DYI, but now doubting that idea for now.
Welcome to the forum. I'm pretty new here too, but am learning a lot.
Where in NWO? I grew up near Atikokan.
And they bounce better... :D
Looks like a baby food jar with holes in the lid would work well here
I had a thought earlier today after thinking about these gatherings.
How often do noobs show up with their shiny new gear, without very much experience, and how much love and patience is shared...
Noticed stretch again this morning. I'm gonna chalk it up to the "memory foam" quality of the nylon. Still pretty comfy when I woke up :D
+1
Especially this...

Looked like a great time
Seems like when I lay to go to sleep, it feels real nice. When I wake up, I have sagging butt syndrome. My ridge line is a lot more taunt and I am kinda folded. Do these things stretch as much as it...
Heheh, shamelessly saying I'd be fourth... :D
Yep, lag screws. 3/8" x 2" or so into the studs. They won't pull out and being into corner studs, they won't affect the stud strength.
Late last night I shortened the amsteel loops for the hammock...
Heres what I am asking/thinking I'd try.
1" straps to the anchor, 1/8" amsteel 12, carabiner each end, descender ring w/4 wraps, hammock larkshead with amsteel loop (144" total length, measuring...

One spare - ordered.
Thanks for the heads up :)
I weigh about 230ish currently, 5'11" tall.
I plan to use a continuous ridge line with amsteel 12 to toggles or carabiners on 1" straps.
I want to use wrapped descender rings to set the lengths...
Hi guys and gals
I'm Matt, I live in Nevada, Iowa and am new to hanging around. I have been interested in hammocks for a while and took the plunge on the one that W00t! Offered.
