Well the Dutch Biner is only a little over 9 grams each. If you use a marlin spike hitch, most people usually carry around a 6 to 8 foot piece of webbing. but you would need at least a 5 foot piece....

I have had the same problem. I also get frustrated when my toggle turns when adjusting it. I never quite trust them and I have to check them every time i get in my hammock. I have since moved away...
