Because most people seem to end up getting a UQ in the end, the NX seems mostly pointless. The TX will deal with the UQ just as well, and will be cooler in the summer.

I did a very brief setup in my local kids park first, but the trees were better, so had no issues, but I also didn't try to sleep in it.
I've been in contact with Clark, and they are making...
Copied from my reddit post.
tl;dr : Excellent service and quality. Experience very sensitive to good site selection! If you don't have the right trees, it really doesn't work well. 3 trees in the...
Hrm,
For a used, older model, that seems kinda steep. Thats only $50 off the new price.
No offense, but I think I'll pass.
What condition and price?
Color not important. Prefer whoopie suspension etc, but I can do it myself if needed.
Possibly interested in underquilts or Z-Liners depending on price/quality.
There are a couple of options for long tree straps. Some of them are more/less of an option depending on how you attach your suspension to the strap.
1) Use a strap with multiple attachment...
Just what it says on the tin, wanna buy a Clark Vertex.
Not directly apples to apples, but I bought an NX250 from the forums for $300
for very cold excursions, I use my Zliner in addition to a down UQ. Works nicely, but bulky, so not for backpacking so much.
Just what it says on the tin.
Would like to buy/trade4 an Clark Vertex or Flex 180. Would prefer Vertex.
Have $ and an Clark NX 250 available for possible trade.
NX250 was my first hammock too.
The zliner packs down to about Nalgene bottle size. Slightly more if you really want to compress it, which is not really reccomended.
However, for actual field use, many people leave the zliner...
I'm 6'1 - 250#, and find the NX250 very comfortable.
I dunno about that particular pack, but the hammock fits great in my lower compartment 65, including suspension and tarp. Gotta stick my UQ/TQ somewhere else though.
pm sent with offer
Do you have any underquilts? Could you do a video showing how the UQs hang/attach? I want a vertex for camping with the wife, but am concerned that normal UQs wont be able to snug correctly for a...
For winter camping, a wool blanket is probably insufficient as a top quilt, unlesss it is very thick (which means very heavy!)
As far as the warmth from the TQ is concerned, treat it exactly as...
Ive used a thermarest inside my nx250 several times and it works fine, although I much prefer using a UQ.
When using a pad, I inflate it about 80-90%. It needs to have some flex in it in order...
In single person mode, any UQ will work. In 2 person mode, I would expect 2 UQs would work, just as they do for the Vertex, as each bed could be covered independantly.
A "naive" ultra-wide UQ for...
You could move it down over the foot to some degree, but not completely. But unless you are REALLY REALLY tall, I don't think it will matter. I am 6'1 and it covers my entire length really. The fact...
Im suprised clark doesn't make a "ramp" version, with only a set of poles for the head, like the do on the vertex. It would save some weight and material, and as far as I have cared in my nx250 I...
I have a full length UQ. it extends the full length of the body, and a bit into the head/foot "cones". (My head and feet are typically only in the body portion though).
I am using a UGO UQ on my NX250. Works great. The spreader bar poles cause a bit of trouble, but I just run the UQ suspension through the gap in the poles
I think you misread - the TX250 has head ventilation, not the NX250.
Assuming you have the weathershield down, and only using the bugnet, I would think the difference between the TX250 and NX250...
bump cause I still want to buy it!
A spreader bar would have the issue of possibly raising the total center of gravity for the hammock (depending on how it was attached), and as well making the single connection point on the tree a...
Please note the seller is in Australia, so pay attention to shipping rates you USAers
Almost all of the camping hammocks are pretty untipable, due to the center of gravity. (unless you have it strung way too tight)
However, In my comparison of Clark to some of the other camping...
Ive got weddings for the next 2 weekends, but we could possibly set something up for after work some night though.
I'm 6'1 250, and the NX250 (coincidence? I think not!) is very roomy for me. I think I could probably be significantly taller and still feel fine as there is plenty of headroom and footroom...
Where is the "triangle"? I have a set of thingies, but when I try to use them with my full length, it seems the only place that I can get them to "work" is if the traingle is on top of the...
I have not had an issue with my full length UQ on the nx-250. The poles to push down a tad on the UQ, but that is more of an issue when it is empty. Once you are inside, the poles are actually quite...
Im using whoopies, attached to tree straps via a caribeener. Its about as fast as you can get. Put up the straps, hook the whoopie to the strap, tug whoopie to adjust length.
A ridgeline can work with the NX, buts its a bit of a bother. You can use the weathershield as a pseudo line to judge tension though, or just the angle of the suspension
Baja : The flex does not have "under" pockets, and therefore no stuff sack, but I believe it still does have the foot "cover" pocket for the weathershield, like the NX and vertex
The site says they do plan on making a zliner for it. However, I would recommend just getting standard underquilts. You can get a down UQ for pretty much the same price, that will take you down to...
try a couple different hanging tensions. How tight or how lose you hang makes a big difference in the comfort.
Its clearly two different color fabrics.
Ive never been bitten, except if I was pressing my legs up against the mosquito net. That appears to allow them to bite through.
I have them, but if I had it to do over again I would go with a normal UQ. There are two advantages to the zliner
1) you can install it ahead of time
2) It is effectively convertible from a full...
for the record, I have had no trouble hanging my full length UQ from the 250 suspension, it does stretch the UQ suspension elastic a bit, but its not too bad imo. Gives a nice tight hang
I think success with triangle thingies would depend on model. I have a pair, and cannot find a good way to use them on my NX250 (due to the tent pole curve). The only way to use them would be to use...
According to an email I had from clark, its basically like the normal zliner foot piece, except super huge so it covers the whole bottom of the tx hammocks.
Supposedly they are going to release...
bump for great justice. Counters?
I dunno if this is kosher to do, since there is the for sale forum, but since it is only o interest to clark owners, I thought I would crosspost here.
Looking to sell my new zliner 200, going to...
0*- 20* down topquilt
Prefer rush, as I would like to use it for an upcoming hang.
WTS : Clark Z-Liner for nx250
Getting some other hammocks and want a UQ for compatability across hammocks. Used 1x, perfect condition. Including Stuff sack, and documentation from Clark if...
Perhaps i am misremembering, but there arent holes in the pockets of my nx250 as far as I can remember. Are you planning on cutting holes in the pockets for the tabs to go through?
I have bought both the zliner and a UQ this winter
If I had it to do again, I would probably get just the UQ
The zliner is convenient, because you can just stuff it and the hammock together. 4...
