Hi, I'm not Shug but when I used my Thermarest Basecamp I fully inflated it and released all tension in the lower straps, did not have any bunching issues.
It is self inflating and also one of the recommended (and cheapest) options on Amok's website.
Appreciate the advice. Despite being so cold out, I was fine. I will try the Reflectix under pad next time to test it out.
First trip out in mine last weekend. Had a great hang, easy to set up and adjust. Used a Thermorest Basecamp pad with a Reflectix layer on top of the pad and temps down to the low to mid 20's at...
746 here, 3 season burrow
Even tho it's 100 degrees outside, I can't wait to get it :)
I would like to get a top quilt someday but have had very good results just using my sleeping bag (40deg) as a top quilt. I only keep the bottom the bag zipped up, slip my feet in and just cover...
Looks great! I'll be trying this out this weekend. Thanks.
Thanks, I'm going to give this a try. I have a similar stand but have only tried to hang using a non-ridgeline hammock and hung waaay too low.
Anybody sell these extensions? I have one of these stands and would love to be able to use it with something other than my spreader bar hammock.
I too get the leg cramps but not always calves. The worst for me is thigh, right above the knee in the front. I can't blame the wbbb as I got the same cramps in my tttm. I'm going to try the clothing...
Camped there last year, was told no hammocks. I don't think they let you even tie ropes to trees.
I use one of those campmor 10 x 10's - it's a good tarp. It may be slightly small for your double (it was for mine) unless you string it in a diamond fashion. Check my gallery page for a pic of both...
Was my starter hammock too. Have spent many nights in mine. Nothing wrong with it, just no bells and whistles that my replacement has (WBBB).
I'm happy to say that I suffered way fewer calf cramps in my wbbb 1.7 than I did in my tttm double. On a 2 night trip, only had problems the first morning. Until reading this thread, I did not know...
Woohoo! The kid says a small box was left on the front step. Thanks Brandon and sorry for the neurotic email spam :)
OK, I'm getting antsy...
patiently waiting since 4/27 for a 1.7 double
I sent Brandon an email yesterday since I was planning on hanging in the beginning of June, he said it's about 2 weeks away - chin up!
Treeless backyard here too - I do have a Pawleys stand though. Anybody try hanging their BB on one of these yet? I ordered on 4/27 but haven't received my BB yet.
Double layer 1.7oz ordered yesterday! can't wait...
Ive got the HB no see um that i pair with the 10x10 campmor tarp, its a great combo. I believe the price of those 2 are less than your other option. Even if price is not a factor, that combo has...
campmor.com sells a 10x10 coated nylon tarp for 40 bux. I use one with my HAAB style double hammock. The tarp has 21 tie tabs, no grommets and very very light.

Hello,
I lurk :)
I've got and have hung in my No-See-Um HAAB style hammock 4 or 5 times now and have had 0 probs with it. I recently purchased a HAAB double-wide and will be testing it out very...
