You can always head up to Big Bear. Along the PCT. Some of that back country is nice but water and campfires will be the main issue there.
I'll definitely take both this weekend. That's the next time I'll have some funds available.
What's the best you can do if I take both at once?
Thanks Bob!!
Hope you and Lil SLBear have fun...it should be great times!!!
It's a first come-first serve depending on availability mainly but you can reserve a pass 6 months in advance if you know for sure your schedule and route. But you definitely need a pass if you plan...

Try any of the High Sierra campgrounds. You'll be away from the tourists of Yosemite Valley and you'll be exposed to the glory of that of the High Sierras!! Glen Aulin, Sunrise, Merced Lake,...
I agree with Aadam. Just stay respectful and I'm sure as time progresses and the more comfortable the newcomers get in co-mingling with the rest of the collective. I'm sure it'll be as good or even...
I'll be there for all 3 nights. I'll see if I can round up more folks to join the party! Keep y'all updated.
Thanks Guys!!
Sounds good!!
Just going to throw this out there...
For the potlucks, are we splitting up the days amongst the group? Such as, half the group take Friday's dinner and the other half take Saturday's dinner....

The Esalen Hot Springs trail is my favorite spot!! You really can't go wrong with any trails...but the hot springs trail is pretty fun!!
Just an OC Hangrat here...welcome to the movement!! More than willing to hang any chance I can get!! You should definitely come join the SoCal hang that we have each year. Keep your eyes peeled on...
That's what I carry most of the time. But you should be safe with those. Just bring some extra lengths of cordage to be safe.
All good then!! It's gonna be fun!!
In that case...Boots13, you can borrow my canister so you won't have to pay the $5 & $95 deposit at the ranger's office!!
Yo Dude!!
Pack some poles...the rock stairs are torture on the knees. Bear canisters are encouraged but if you wanna go light, stick with hanging your foods. Bring the bug nets...you'll need it....
