I sent a PM and I upped the Ante a bit.
I would love to see this as an option. There are many times I would love to just visit with my fellow hangers.
I am a Scoutmaster of a troop and we will be camping along the Katy Trail in October. Many of us are hammock campers and I would have no problem introducing you to the gang. Let me know if you have...
I wonder why he is dropping all that equipment. Getting out of camping?
Note to Self: Get name of cousin and buy lottery ticket with him...Twice!
If God wants a meeting with you I don't think your sleeping gear will keep him at arms length.
I think I have seen this question come up a couple of times before. If you do a search "Tree Struck by Lightning" online you will see some amazing images. The tree seems to virtually explode...
In a recent post someone mentioned they were having problems with Window 7 giving them alerts when browsing HF. I thought I would make this thread to discuss possible solutions for the issue. Feel...
Welcome to the forums. I highly recommend doing some research before making your purchase. See if any of us are near your area, if you live in Missouri I would be happy to let you try mine.
I own the 1.7 double and would recommend the product any time any day no matter how long the wait. The question is simple, do you want a great product built by great people who are family and...
PM sent. Please let me know if I was the first.
I have a question, what is the perfect distance between the tree's for the Blackbird?
I keep a Proton in my Hammock (as I have said) at all times and I keep one in the pocket of my Tilley hat. I put a piece of velcro on the hat bill and also the mated side of the velcro I glued to...
I would reconsider the decision but I already sent the payment, sorry folks that Superfly is sold.
Cannibal, I don't think I explained it well. I have a Proton 2 type light on my ridgeline ALL THE TIME. I fold the hammock up with it in there so It is always there.
PM sent on the Superfly.
The easier question is what don't I hang.
My pack goes under my legs between the two layers of my BB to give me a little more warmth.
My shoes hang from my suspension line at my feet.
My...
I have never asked this of Brandon, but I would wager (based on his customer service) that he would also allow you to return a hammock if you didn't like it. Frankly I have never heard of anyone not...
If you intend to camp 3 season then please consider the BB. Fall and Spring can really get chilly at night and many folks buy a underquilt to help. With a BB you can get away with a cheap pad from...
I own a nest and a winter nest. These guys have this UQ system down cold, or should I say toasty.
My first hammock was an HH. I frankly think that if your going to buy a hammock and put in the Zipper mod (which I did do) then you should instead buy a Warbonnet Blackbird for the same money. ...
For those of us that purchased the Yeti already how much will the upgrade be?
My wife is not a camper, she is very comfortable in her bed while my son and I are out in the woods.
Everything I have read says they DO expire. Seems to be around 2-3 years.
Jalastra, welcome to the community and I hope you enjoy the time here.
Ok, to your question I have a few comments.
I could only find the 12x12 at REI, if you have a link to the one you mention...
In my experience you don't want the hammock to be level. You want your feet to be a little higher then your head. As the night goes on if your head is higher you will sink toward the center of the...
I use a Walmart blue pad. It is a part of my pack system right now because I use a Gearskin. I have never had any condensation problem, but I am thinking of trimming it down.
I used a quarter inch, you dont need much to make this work. I got mine from my local hobby store.
The inside of mine is a thin layer of memory foam material (on the side I sleep on) and an inflatable pillow on the other side. That way I can adjust it to my need at the time and it is not as noisy...
Ok, guys I am trying to work this whole thing out in my mind. As it looks the idea is to attach your tarp to your hammock? If that is the case dosent the hammock tend to get real loose when you sit...
I don't believe it forces a negative cash flow, if you have the ability to create a good product this community will support you right into a new career.
Welcome to the "Spot". You will love all the information and gear.
I would attend and be willing to help organize it.
I live in Independence and if I can help in any way let me know. I hang about once a month.
I live in Independence MO and on occasion I get on the Katy. I love that trail.
I hope it is more, cause I sleep in mine and I weigh 235.
When I go to the advertising options it is just a blank line. Not sure what to put in there.
I have read that the Wall mart blue pad moves around a bunch. Any thoughts on how to keep it in place? I use it for support on my pack and would like to avoid giving it up unless there is another...
Ok, I put on shock cord on all my tie outs, and nylon on the ridge. The tarp now works well and so does the great BB. I am also using the center tie out on the tarp to tie out the BB.
I got home today and there was a great surprise waiting. I had ordered from Brandon a Blackbird, Yeti and a Superfly tarp. All three were waiting for me and I quickly grabbed them and headed out to...
I hate to point this out to you my friend but I think your about to convince yourself to just send Brandon another order, and frankly I think in the long run you will be a happier camper for it.
I am waiting for baited breath (what a disgusting concept) for my BB, Yeti and new tarp all from Brandon. It is going to be fun to try out.
Ok, let me start off by saying "Hi my name is Bob and I am a hammockaholic. I am not trying to blame anyone for this besides myself and I have no intention of going through any type of 12 step...
Cavediver,
I see you are from Southern IL and that you are a traveling man. I assume you have been to the east. Might I ask what area of Southern IL you are from? My father was "Raised" in...
I use the gear hammock from JRB and it is great. All my extra gear goes in it and that means they are easy to reach.
I have watched Shug's video but he doesn't flip and put his head where the box is, he just doesn't use the box. What is the advantage to flipping?
What does sleeping backwards get you? I think it puts the shelf in a bad position to use if I understand it right but what advantage does it get you.
I also use this multi-use tool. It make s agreat pack cover and also a gear hammock.
OMG somebody post some pic's on this bad boy PLEASE!
I just emailed Brandon. I hope he reply's soon. Does anyone have pic's of this convertible tarp?
