Understood...sorry for the trouble!
Thanks for the suggestions everyone. I think if anything I'd go with a 12 footer since the 11 foot suggestion is only 4" longer than what I'm in now. It's not that it's not working, it's just not...
I'm about 6'5" and currently using a GT Skeeter Beeter Pro because it's the longest one (10'6") that I know of other than doing a DIY and making one longer myself. I feel that in this length I still...
I'm in (and have a US shipping address :) )
I'm in for sure :)
Awesome! I'm in!
Hey Buffalo I'd love to see how you modified it to get a ridge line in there!
I use the GT SBP and loooove it!
I'm 6'5" and 240.
Did lots of research on it, and the price was right for me!
Either way, you'll be hanging and that's awesome!
Have fun!
Just wanted to give a heads up on the REI Deal of the Week - there are a couple of Grand Trunks Hammocks on there. Also the deal of the day is for hammock slings!
Happy hanging!
Well done Shug - you the man!!!!
I personally own and use the Grand Trunk Skeeter Beeter Pro and love it!
It affordable, comfortable and very functional.
The only potential downside to it is not being able to run a ridge line...
Hang and paddle is my favorite too!
I would be there in a heartbeat if it was a little closer!!!
Won't be able to ship the canisters through USPS. They are considered dangerous goods.
Haha, that's what I said when I first started out too...now I'm a full on gear junky :S
Welcome to the forum!
I use a Grand Trunk Skeeter Beeter Pro (I'm 6'5", 240lbs) and LOVE it!
Are there some things that I would like to change on it? Sure (only to be able to have a ridge line),...
Congrats!!!
Looks comfy :)
Welcome welcome! :)
I'm just to the west of ya!
Once you hang you'll never want to back to ground dwelling!
I use a few of those three drawer plastic unit thingys to keep my stuff in: multiple hammocks, tarps, cook kits, I have drawer specific for fire related tasks, etc. another drawer for stuff sacks, a...
Ya, that's kinda what I was thinking too - won't have a "silky smooth" texture to it, but a hellofalot cheaper that a silk liner.
I have a whole bunch of ripstop nylon and am considering all the options that I can make with it and one thing that came into mind is a sleeping bag liner.
Has anyone ever done so? Or any thoughts...
Wow...what happened to this simple thread of selling a hard-to-find beer can as a convenience to those that might not have them available in their area?
If someone else wants to sell the same...
Please delete posting - I have purchased a new Optimus Crux
Thank you!
Def want that storage bag with it! Thanks anyways :)
I'm 6'5" and I fit nicely in a Grand Trunk Skeeter Beeter Pro (and the price is nice too)
Just wondering if anyone has and wants to sell a Optimus Crux stove to me? :)
(not the lite version - I want the folding one)
Thanks!
Too heavy :s
How much extra would you charge for shipping to Canada?
I want it! I want it!!!!
But.....
I live in Canada :(
Hello & welcome from Vancouver! :)
Ahh, that looked nice!
Great spot!
Welcome!
All I can and will suggest is using YouTube and hammock forums as research tools for making you purchase! Both will help you immensely with your decision.
There are many different hammock...
Oh man - that really sucks! Glad you weren't too badly injured!
But it sounds like you've already got a good idea on how to fix it all up!
Would love to see the pics of the before and after the...
Right on! Another west coaster! Hello from Cloverdale!!
I heart HF.
Everyone has been very kind to me thus far!
I think there is one good old saying that can go a long way (Internet/forums or otherwise)
and that is: Do unto others as you would have...
Kelty Noah's 12 is also an exceptional replacement :)
Make it a higher priority in your life and it will become one. :)
Plan it and get pumped about it!
The "Air Bivy Extreme" includes just the regular Skeeter Beeter that has a weight capacity of 250 lbs and is a bit shorter and narrower than the Pro version.
A few years ago the construction and workmanship of the skeeter beeter pro was pretty poor apparently, but I believe Grand Trunk have changed suppliers and since that time have had far less problems....
Couldn't agree more! I love my SBPro and even at full retail price, it's an excellent hammock with integrated bug netting.
Check out the Kelty Noah's tarps for a great priced tarp too!
:)
Who's Shug?
JUST KIDDING!!!!!!
Big time Shug fan here! Love his videos and expertise - very helpful and influential!
Next thing ya know, we're all going to be getting into unicycling too!
Welcome to the addiction :p
Ya, some of the island chicks are pretty nuts! LOL
Thanks Fronkey
Been looking high and low for one around here, but haven't had any luck :(
How much would you charge for shipping to Canada?
Table is from outbound. Scroll up a few comments above for more info about the table :)
In Cloverdale :)
Wow, good looking boat!
The small table is the Backpacker Table from Outbound. I bought it on sale at my local Wholesale Sports. It folds up quite nicely (perfect for my kayak).
Here's the link to it on the Outbound...
I swear the flavored ones you won't want sugar in it. I usually have my coffee with sugar and cream but really didn't need it with the flavored Via coffees.
I was actually on Pender Island (Gulf Islands). But ya, I'm pretty much one bridge and a short drive to Golden Ears Provincial Park which is a beauty!
Just wanted to share a video of my first hang using the GT SBPro and the Kelty Noah 12.
I had the best sleep I've ever had outdoors and was easily able to sleep on my side as well.
There's NO going...
Awesome, thanks for the info!!! :)
