You want to add aditional tarp space? Or anchor points for guy lines?

Dark/neutral UQ bright TQ.
TQ is hidden by the hammock walls but I want to see what I'm doing. UQ can be seen from below the tarp so black/brown usually blends in the most.

7. Shock cord will provide some help with wind gusts at lower effort.
I would suggest velcro instead though, just as good holding power as the kam snaps, but easier to work with when wearing thick...
Kam snaps leave gaps, so your bug neg is no longet guaranteed to keep the bugs out.
I doubt you get 100g difference and the zipper will avoid any potential snagging on the no-see-um [emoji6]

If you plan on hiking there are a lot of trails across Switzerland. Wild camping is tolerated (emphasis on tolerated) in public forests as long as they are not animal preserves.
Wild camping is...
I would not use.a bicycle or motorcycle (even ln centre stand) as an enpoint for a hammock.

I would try to reuse the bugnet but adding the structural ridgeline may affect your hammocks geometry.
As others have said, it migjt be worthwhile to try a nrtless hammock if you will be using it...
If you're going to go down that road you might as well remove the bug-net completely, add the structural-ridgeline and create the new bugnet.
This will allow you to bunch up the bugnet around the...
Looks really nice!

I think we will do a little hiking, as Mt. Fujinis definitely in the to-do basket.
Dont think that climb will be mixed with the campout though.
Thanks for the report, excellent source of...
JMS are my initials. As for the numbers, your guess as good as mine :shades:
Hey all,
I will be travelling to Tokyo for the rugby world cup and while I will most likely stay at a hotel most of the trip I would love to get at least one night out.
Given the time frame my...
That was an interesting read.
I've been using my motorcycle jacket over my sleeping bag liner to keep feet warm.
Let us know how it goes!

Rooms usually have 4 corners so you would only have the centre pole to replace [emoji6]

Just 2 things:
- you're setting this up inside. Make your supports go as high as possible. You can easily lower your hammock. You can't easily raise the supports
- Look at how you will be joining...
I'm going on a limb here and guessing the goal is to avoid rain on the hammock during sleep. I got rid of the hex tarp that came with my chameleon for the reasons you mention (too small).
If you...
Yes: condition seems fine (from pictures + vendor's words). The machine can do various stitch types which can provide you with more longer lasting machine (for the more difficult projects).

If extremtextil finish the english translation of their website I'll probably start diy-ing a bit more. My german is not what it used to be.

[emoji23] Possibly. Not sure what the text should include. Mandatory english for customs agents or lower customs taxes.

Oh no. Just customs agents being customs agents ;)

I got the full set through the kickstarter (hammock, bugnet, tc). Always use the TC. The bugnet is nice and all but the TC does the same job and avoids needing a tarp for light rain. (Light rain,...
US package labels tend to have shipping costs included with the product.
If memory serves they billed me VAT on value of package + shipping and customs fees by weight + base customs fee......
I had ordered a firebox kit with a small pot. Shipping cost as much as my purchases but the killer was customs which cost as much as the purchases and shipping together :(

I get mine at a boating shop. They have several types of amsteel as well as different colours, and free shipping. Well, you go to the store and take it home from there.

At least the design is sure to stay ;)

You could embroider it

Even a cheaper unit will do the trick.
Most modern machines come with various stitches by default and will have a starting price poibt in the $70-$100.

Congrats on finishing the project

I always shoot for a little safety. Better to be warm and vent a little than to be shivering all night ;)

More seriously, I keep my Chameleon and TC bundled together in the stuff sack. Will the...
I would use the UQ instead of the pad, even at warmer temperatures. I found the pad to not be very comfortable on my DD Frontline whereas the UQ allowed my to sleep however the hell I wanted without...

Thanks for the info. I was thinking about doing that more as a way to start using up the neoprene than anything else. Looks like I'm back to the drawing board now.

Hi hangers,
After finding out (too late) I was missing a ton of equipment for a short winter adventure I started wondering on the possibilities of creating a stuff sack out of neoprene? I would be...

I would very much like that. I have been eyeing some new packs (deuter quantum) and they have a detachable pack that can be hung on the front. I would much rather have a brain up front and have some...
No beautiful product came without its number of failed prototypes. Good luck on your project.
It's the black bag in there (I made that one fairly big).
Mac was very active on the thread when I was working on mine....
I like the pack brain idea. Pack-specific pattern? Do you have pics of some that you already made?
Sent from my SM-G390F using Tapatalk
There is a thread on the forums on how to do it. Mac responded quite a bit to help out but essentially:
Cut rectangle
Sew channels on 3 sides
Add suspension
Add ridgeline on 3rd channel...
Are you using a special fabric for the food bag? That seems like a project I could add to my list... [emoji848]

For some winter is the time of maximum outings as it is easier to warm up in cold weather than it is to cool off in the warmer months.
For others it is the time to prepare the gear for next year....
