Triangle Thingies and MacCat are sold. That's all of it! Thanks for a great forum and great community! You guys helped me a ton as I started hammocking and I wish you all great hanging! :-)
...
Triangle Thingies are back. So I still have the MacCat Deluxe and the Triangle Thingies for a full length under quilt for sale.
I still have the MacCat deluxe with webbing suspension and custom bishop bag. The rest is gone.
Cheers!
Mike
you guys are fast! I still have 1 WBBB and 1 OES MacCat deluxe.
Cheers!
Mike
The WBBBs are truly like new. No wear, no stains, no skin has touched the fabric (when I used them it was chilly so I slept in long johns).
The footbox on the burrow is a Sewn Closed footbox.
The ridgeline is 12 feet.
My kids are getting out of scouts so its time for me to part with my hammock gear. Here's what I have to sell:
2 WBBB 1.7DL - $155 each
Olive Green
webbing suspension with Titanium Dutch...
Our boy scout troop uses this trick and its amazing how much it helps and how long the water stays hot. We put a sock around the nalgene to keep it from making your skin too hot.
I like the ThermaRest Ridge Rest pad. Give the combination of CCF with a silvered, reflective side that really helps with warmth! Its bulky but for a CCF pad its one of the more comfortable I've...
+1 on the event compression sacks! Great things! Some people like to just throw the fluffy stuff on the bottom of their backpack. That way you fill up every possible spot in the backpack. If you...
Pros to the TQ is that there is less material and generally no zipper. Those who count grams tend to cut out zippers from sleeping bags that have them anyway. Top quilts are also as easy to get...
I find it much easier to use taut line knots http://www.animatedscoutknots.com/tautline_hitch.html
There are a number of slip hitches you can use but the taut line is pretty simple and generally...
Very nice! I leave my guylines tied to the tarp with bowlines but could instead put a shock cord between the bowline and the tarp. I leave taut line knots in the stake side so I can easily slip it...
I have the SynMat 7 Deluxe and have not been able to get it working with my WBBB though I'd like to. I personally have had more success with underquilts and CCF like the ThermaRest Ridge Rest. I...
BTW, I also use webbing and mini carabineers for my tarps. Everything works the same and I can carry 1 replacement if I think I might trash a strap.
I use the stock webbing with my WBBB and TI Dutch Clips. Great Combo. For big trees could you bring an extra length of webbing and another clip/carabineer to make the straps longer? If that would...
Here is another positive review - http://www.thegearcaster.com/the_gearcaster/2011/11/columbia-omni-heat-sleeping-bag-review.html
I think I will be getting one of these to try out! I love...
Backpacker did a review of a Columbia bag with the Omni-Heat liner and the testers really seemed to like it - http://www.backpacker.com/2012-august-gear-review-columbia-reactor-25/gear/16797
I have found that cheap bags don't come close to their claimed lower temp rating. The bag you are looking at seems to be 90% duck down and 10% duck feathers which could impact your comfort. ...
I have a burrow 20* which has a plastic snap and drawstring at the top. I don't believe the outer fabric is coated with anything to make it water proof/resistant. It would be awesome if they could...
Though it may be overkill I even use 1 inch webbing for my tarp in addition to the WBBB. Quick, easy, no knots or knotbones or anything else. Strap it up and let it hang! I used the webbing kit...
Maybe use a hydrolic jack and a lift scale (see links below for examples). You could attach the scale to the bottom of the jack or maybe mount the jack on a thick piece of steel and attach the...
Ressurecting a slightly old thread...:D
I was at Raven Knob the week after you for scout camp. Like many on this thread I am both an Assistant Scout Master for the Boy Scouts and a Cub Scout Den...
Being a cottage industry you have to assume that there is no one besides Brian answering email and the phones and making tarps and equipment. I ordered a MacCat tarp from Brian and Sept 12 and just...
+1 for webbing. Dead simple, easy and quick. For tree protection I got AHE webbing for my tarp as well. Heavier? Yes. But now my tarp and hammock set up the same way. I save the knots for connecting...
Between these and the flame thrower UQ Paul @ Arrowhead is giving away it's just like Christmas around here! :-)
Marty is awesome. I talked to him for quite some time about some stuff bag ideas I have. Great guy!!
Wilderness logics has a lazy slug tube system. Similar to snake skins but made of sil-nylon and big enough to hold the hammock, under and top quilts and a piece of clothing or two. Pretty nice!
...
Just put in two orders! Did I win yet? :-)
You could also spray or soak the hammock in permethrin. Once dry it has no impact on human skin but will kill Mosquitos (and other bugs) that land on it. Great stuff! I coat all my summer camping...
I donated and wanted to see my new avatar! :-)
Whoppie slings connect the hammock to tree huggers which are straps that go around the tree. Your blackbird will come with the parts necessary to connect it to the trees. I got my blackbird with the...
Sounds like you hung it correctly. I never had the feeling of falling out. The non-shelf side is definitely lower but I still have to lift my head up to look over it. I am 6'1" 190lbs and have a WBBB...
Could the hammock be stretched too tight? Sounds like maybe that is the problem.
I tried no pillow but quickly realized I needed neck support in my WBBB. I have the red exped inflatable and quickly found that I needed it to be almost completely empty to get the neck support I...
Sorry but I PM'd @ 6:40 Eastern and already paid! Looking forward to my new tarp!
Mike
Hammocks are spreading in our Boy Scout Troop. 3 adult Assistant Scout Masters are now hanging and 3 of the boy scouts. We have two HH, 1 WBBB, 1 ENO, 1 Byer Moskito and one ENO/DIY. I need to...
Thanks for all the info!! It seems that with proper planning, order of hanging tarp, hammock and bedding and good tarp technique that it is rare someone was surprised with having to go to ground.
...
New hanger here. Have a WBBB and I have hammock gear top and under quilts on the way. But I have been doing a lot of reading here and it seems there are a couple of ways of staying warm in a hammock....
+1 on toothpaste hole patches. Works like a charm and makes the wall smell good to boot!! Did this pretty much every end of year in my college days.
Mike
You can set up a paypal accounts with a credit card and no bank account. I have this exact set up. Paypal keeps asking me to attach a bank account to my PP account but I won't do that.

24 years ago we built a frame out of 2x4s that went up the walls, across the ceiling and back Down the walls on the other side of the room. Nothing was attached to the cinderblock itself. We then...
Reading some of the reviews for the link you posted it looks like there is 3# of insulation and 2# of cover, zipper, drawcords, etc. for a total weight of 5#. The comfort range for the bag is stated...
I got this as my first hammock. Loved using it without the netting (flipped over). Nice, light, inexpensive. I have found, however, that the netted side is too small for me. I am 6'1" but my head...
A simple and effective solution to mosquitos on the hammock and tarp is permethrin. I've used this (http://www.rei.com/product/768970/sawyer-permethrin-pump-spray-24-oz) on my clothes and tent...
I did my first hang Friday in my new WBBB. Wow! How comfortable! But I had the same experience. I slept maybe a few hours. I was never uncomfortable though like I get sleeping in my tent. I...
I read that a little different. I understood that they felt a bear would probe a tent or a hammock just as likely but that when probing a tent they would hit the wall but not likely the person...
A warbonnet blackbird "double layer" means two layers of nylon.
