I don't have me maps handy, I'm at work. But I think you is on the wrong trail (#219). You can park at the SCC/RCT trailhead on hwy 715, but you want to take the ROUGH CREEK trail...

It's a pretty large area, & we could have a central area for meeting & stuff, then spread out to sleep. Where I think I will hang is about 1/4 mile up Rough/STT, so I is cool.

The "Campsite in Question" is just off the map in the lower left corner. Park where it says "Sheltowee Trace" near the lower left corner, go NNE on the access trail, cross the bridge & follow the STT...

Yea, I can see it being roped off, only 1.9 from the parking lot it gets a bit of use. BUT, we can camp nearby where the tenters never go. And away from the water.
