HI daverr
So on the 3/4" conduit put 1 hole in the middle of the section hole goes all the way through. then in the 1/2" conduit put a hole about 1/2" from top (as you said very near the top)...
Everything is pretty snug inside it took some practice to figure out the best way to put it all together but I think I go the hang of it now. As for weight it comes in at 25-30 lbs.
I like the...
HI KerryandJane thanks for looking!
I have not done a 2.0 fully yet.
I would like to increase the PVC to 5.5' or 6' each to increase the ridge length this would allow for an 11' tarp too.
I...
Could not agree more Scott is a great guy. My order was running late on arriving and he emailed several times to check up on things until I got it. I have not had an issue with previous orders either...
I have seen PVC sections with dowels in one end used to put the sections together. This was a snug fit for the dowels into the PVC and worked well but the PVC will not nest (like I made my legs)...
Actually I have not really modified it. That is not to say I don't wAnt to make new one. I think making the PVC 11-12ft instead of 10 would be a start which would let me use just a little taller...
Looks good..I think a trip to test it out is inorder.
Thanks UncleMJM for responding and the offer. Sounds similar to here Athens GA = BullDAWGS Football.

Thanks for the votes guys. Bubba I agree we are mostly car camping at the moment so extra stuff is not a problem. Thanks for the video Drifter.
I need to make 3 bugnets and 1 more hammock first....
Just scored 3 Army down mummy bags, with liners and covers, 5 bug tents and other Army surplus items off of Craigslist for 60.00.
Now to clean it all and research the forms here to make sure I can...

Hello and welcome from Athens, GA
Welcome! I'm a NC coastal export now living in GA.
only 1 night in a borrowed hammock = that is what started it :). Several hours here and there testing.
But getting ready to start camping season! 3 trips planned that gets me till May = 18 nights. ...
congrats, enjoy it!
We have both but I like the DN just a little flatter and roomier for me. Also good just in case one of the younger kids wants in... the 2 legged or 4 legged kind.
Welcome from just to the east....Athens
Our council sales them at the Trading Posts at the camps too. Not sure how many scouts actually bring enough money to fully out fit hammock, bug net, tarp. My kids don't for sure! But they are there...
Welcome from Athens, GA
I'm in! I could use a "real" suspension system:)
welcome from Athens.......Ga that is
These would fill the hole for sure. Hope fully that would be enough surface area to keep the conduit from sinking on lose or wet ground. Field tests are in my future for sure. I can get rubber...
Yeah I figured that early from watching others. I already posted my attempt at a stand in the DIY forms. We spend alot of time out so I want a portable unit that I can leave in the car so it is ready...
I definitely had not thought of this one, and that would totally ruin my trip:scared:
Here are some pics of the lashing and the connections:
I just used a side by side lashing but staggered this allows me to flex it to get the post into the 3" tube. I lashed the swivel hardware...
Since I'm new here and still looking thru forums not sure if this is the best place to ask this but I'm going to.

They over lap 1.5 to 2' I put in 2 points so my daughter could use it too. I could probably raise it up a little more too but for me I don't think I need to.
Also thinking of making a little bit...
