I guess you could put the snaps on both long sides of the tarp and carry either 1 or 2 attachments it would really open up your living space in bad weather.

Thanks for the replies, I plan to check out several ways others do it at the Texas Group Hang in November but wanted to get a head start on info.
I have needed to use 2 inch straps most of the time here in TX. I use a home made seatbelt strap, about 5 feet with loops sewn on each end and I larks head my Beetle Buckle Suspension to one or both...
I just use the spray method and it works just fine.

Swingset does not work as well with a full hammock but I am taking it down this winter and plan to use the wood to make a permanent Hammock stand.

Well 2 days 3 nights of misty rain and I had no issues. Quilts worked fine
I plan on getting an UQ protector as the Texas gulf coast can be a damp place.
Temps will be in the 40's at night so not worried about me being too hot
