Thanks - had no idea... good to know!
I guess if this was a huge issue a 1/4 inch mylar round button would reduce the issue and can be applied to the inside and reflect the sun.

After purchasing Kelty Noah - after 6 months I resold it... it is too big for any trail. 8x10 or a little less is fine. just IMO/.

* I never worry about my wife climbing into the hammock with me.
Yea I would.... that would cause the tree to fall over....
...
Even if you did - it would still be promising... I like the idea.
The 5 10 rule is very odd, a 6 foot bag can be very uncomfortable if your feet relax down... test in the store.
***YUP*** once in a while. So I get wet... not a butter cup!
Do we have a pic or two?
Thanks Guys I appreciate this.
In a previous thread someone mentioned here on this site about 2" tree straps being acceptable in parks. If I understand this if one drives into a park and there is primitive camping these straps are...
Its a shower for the bears - they don't smell as bad when you hang with them.
Sorry for the very dry - dry humor!
Clearly nobody here has used a titanium wood stove. So you get a small hole from an "accident" Your tarp was never designed to last forever.
Look I have woken to noisy sheep and coughing deer... and other critters.
Bushwacker - Permethrin is not Horseyicide - its Insecticide. It doesn't kill Horses!

Not everyone out there myself and others are comfortable with a website. Some are self administered and I noticed Stormcrow over the years are helping him out. I am sure he is doing his best.
Please do not subscribe to Tappas Talk, use the microphone... say what you want and edit.
Eno is a good manufacture of sil nylon hammocks in some bright colors and styles. So this is a departure for them. Maybe you want a tarp for a wind break or to get out of the rain for lunch... I...
My camp chair is my hammock....or a rock
Hey great concept and the vestibule can be rigged into blocking wind when the weather is bad. I would add a 5" drape on three sides for drizzle and light rain.
I went with this idea pictured...

Yes every couple of years I look into this... Sil Nylon treated won't hold five color according to Mossy Oak and the others, it...
It wont achieve the desired color. It will be lighter. You may have to repeat the process twice and may not turn out well. Can I suggest you sell it and move on...
I got as far as page four... just sharing adding 10° to your bag can also be accomplished with a fleece beanie and or a ski mask.
I read the thread carefully, a small nugget of info was left out here. I have spent a few nights in a space blanket.
Well it needs to be said, Space Blankets might help you for a couple of...
Thanks guys I figured out you would know... Now if I buy it - I guess I need to find someone with a thread injector that can handle it.
I got this idea in my head to get some 2" wide brown straps or near camo for a few of my hammocks that I still own... I just do not want black... Dutch ideas if possible. Black doesn't happen in...
I have tried both. Who would have thought in NJ a 50 MPH wind would have crossed a ridge in Delaware Water Gap at night in May dropping temps to feel like freezing. 1 extra pound I would have had...
What is that a baby raccoon?
A: Compression. Wool doesn't keep you warm - Trapped air does. Folks used closed cell foams for a reason - it traps air. Hense R- Value is important. Nothing wrong with a wool blanket on top, but it...

Well written Gravity. Thanks for the thread.
I have started out with Byers and got eaten alive with mosquitoes.. I agree with Silver Surfer Take it slow and spend some more time with it... Figure out how to afford what you want... don't settle...
Hi two tents we met a few years back - I have to figure out how to pay it forward... I am interested in the top quilt. I might need 24 hours to consult my bank. Can you take $125?
Yes I have used NeverWet. I picked up all my old hiking hats that clearly sucked in rain and hosed them down with the two step process. I gave ample time to dry before reapplication. The weird part...
just go for it no harm done.

Hands down easy to use easy to light and folds flat weighs nothing.
I don't know - FYI he did a high pitch for the camera (nothing wrong here) - if you are ever in this as a pinch the pitch must be sides on the ground! knocking wind that gives wind chill is key to...
