Bump for lymph! Received my Golite today and it is everything I hoped for! Perfect fit and so very very soft and warm on the inside! Can't wait to test it out soon :boggle:
Good point, mostly going to be for backpacking if that changes anyone's opinion.
Thanks everyone, I appreciate all the input! :)
I will take the TQ off of your hands! PM sent
Obviously you are going to have a bias towards hammocks (since they rock!) but I would avoid saying hammocks are the end all be all of sleeping solutions.
Hammocks are still the very small...
...with your doublenest? I have been looking around, and wanted some opinions. No need for the any will do response, I am sure they are all well-made, but I'd like personal stories with maybe a pro...
I also have not had any trouble with my GTUL, I think the ripping cases are probably mostly from people horsing around and not treating the hammock right. It doesn't have the high 400lb rating like...
Haha I agree, with a little planning the tiny amount of stretch I get never affects me. But it appears we are the minority
I am almost surprised there aren't more products like this. ENO has the right idea with their straps, the slap around and hang works, they just anger people with the material. About time someone...
Sounds interesting, might be able to make it depending on the date!

These straps seem to have the same easy design of the slap straps but are made out of polyester instead of nylon. I for one still use the slap straps...
I haven't had the major problems with the slapstraps, like rod said, if you don't leave 4' of strap hanging off the tree there isn't a lot to stretch. I might look into these python straps to see...
Gave out a blue and green as presents to some friends, and I'd say they are hooked! They are always laying in them when I show up :D
South Carolina, Home of the Hanger!:lol:
Looking forward to the review!
Sounds more like misuse of the hammock. It is rated for 250, so someone(or multiple someones) near that limit bouncing around or jumping in the hammock will most certainly split it. This thing is...
We could just put it as a sub forum under general hammock talk. I don't think it has to be a defined forum, will add to the discussion if we get to argue... I mean discuss what that is ourselves :)...
I have some experience with sleeping two (smaller)people in an ENO doublenest and the comfort is another fight to get two people situated as soon as either of you have that eventual need to move. On...
Welcome to the forums from SC!
I would say keep the ENO and buy the other things you want like a fly and pad or UQ. The ENO is certainly a quality hammock, and the things you buy for it will work just as well on another hammock...
Way to go Dutch, may your products serve the community for a long, long, long time to come! :D
Test hanging new equipment is nearly as fun as taking it out in the wild. Figuring out all the little things that make it fit you and your setup just right is always a fun task to me
I would also know if there is some defining factor that distinguishes tarps as 3 or 4-season
I love my ENO DN, and the only times I have seam problems is when I hang the hammock too tightly
+1 for ENO hammocks!
Nice quick fix, cool stuff
I replaced the rope and carabiners in my UL, mostly just to prove to myself I could change it out without screwing the thing up. But I did manage to save a few ounces and strengthen that part of my...
Just recently picked up the $12 forest green GTUL from Amazon and I am very pleased with my purchase! Also bought a blue one for my lovely girlfriend and she is overjoyed as well. I love my ENO...
I love the flash packs! I have a Flash 50 as my regular pack and a Flash 18 as a stuff sack/daypack. Very good quality
I should have clarified! I meant bring it along extra as a gear sling hammock :D
I would certainly trust it no matter the distance
Nice video Water Monkey! Good facts all around
Maybe a picture or two would help us get a better perspective on fixing this?
REV, put the hammock down and step back from the DIY forums
You are experiencing hammock-phoria, and it WILL spread to every aspect of your life!
+1 on the ENO Doublenest, probably one of the most popular hammocks on here and I have no problems with mine.
But everyone is entitled to "hang their own hang," and there are tons of other great...
I try to always put something between any sort of line when I hang it on a tree, whether it be a bear bag or tarp line.
That was something I actually picked up from slack lining. Another fun...
You may need to do a little work to get it to lay right with the suspension since it isn't a huge hammock you can move all around in, but I would think you can manage just fine.
But at the light...
I have had times during my test runs where my hammock just will not get comfortable. Even though the setup looks exactly the same as my last test it just will not work out no matter how I lay.
...
Great photos, thanks for sharing! :D
Welcome from North Augusta, SC! We have you surrounded
+1 :thumbup1:
^Same here, most I ever stand to lose is a few bucks in change
I wouldn't think the risk of causing some sort of long term damage to a tree would be worth the tiny weight-savings. Sure, one guy hanging with no tree straps on different trees all the time MIGHT...
Seems everyone has good luck with these! My only worry is that the material is not as tough as other hammocks. Has anyone had any problems? Being a 135lb guy I am nowhere near the limit so I don't...
Just got 2 of the forest green $12 Ultralights in from Amazon yesterday and tested it out last night. Very nice hammock, and a steal at that price! I highly recommend this hammock to anyone looking...
Well if we do have any say, I vote for sticky status. If not, then here is another bump :D
I put my pack cover on my bag and then clip it to my hammock straps
I wouldn't mind seeing this as well, there are quite a lot of hangs to sort through. Would be much easier to make a few extra forums.
Haha yes, the towns are not equipped for it here. A couple inches of snow locks everyone indoors for half a week!
They really only work if the majority of people use them. Maybe we could get it to catch on since it's use has been brought to light?
Looks great, sorry I couldn't make it! With all of these planned hangs it looks like we'll have something to look forward to most of the year. Maybe a summer hang to fill in the big gap between...
