I am not one of the powers that be for the event, but I think it is a good idea personally.

Framing has bracing at the top holding them apart. We are not saying that 4x4's will not work, just that if they do not have bracing then they will bow. A fully framed house is hardly the same as 2...

A 4"x 6" should be plenty imo if the deep side is running in line with the hammock.

My issue at over 250 lbs is that they flex and affect the ridgeline also making the tarp sag if one is setup. A 4x4 will not break unless it is faulty, but it will give and cause sag.

I already got the feet and washers to add more durability to them. They fit great and it all still fits in the carrying bag.

The only issue with that is cinching the bungee cords to try to seal the draft will pull against the magnets, so stronger magnets will have to be used.
