Any reason you went with an eye splice instead of a locked brummel?

I use 7/64". It's quite a bit less expensive than 1/8" and is stronger than other stuff I have used in the past, including some rope I made in Venezuela from some polypropylene twine.

Samson's instructions say to leave the tail at full volume and just cut the end at an angle. I'm guessing that's because the exit of the adjustable tail is where the whoopie is weakest and the taper...

Wow, that seems pretty expensive (but very cheap shipping). What made you choose that cord over Amsteel Blue? I just bought a bunch of the 7/64" for $.15/ft.

Yes, the minimum would be 4 and any quantity that weighs less than 1 lb shipped would go USPS for $6.80.

Talked to OnRope1 again and got more info. They said that when a package is under 1 pound, they can send it out via Priority Mail which reduces the shipping cost for small orders to 6.80.

I'm running the numbers and it looks like we can save around $5-$6 per small order compared to their web price. Gonna check one more thing with OnRope1 then see where we go from there.

I'd say try it. I've seen photos of folks using it but it often looks like they've removed the core. Since it's not part of the support structure, you shouldn't really have any safety issues.

You might be right but the shipping for even an order of 4 buckles is $10 from OnRope1 so there could be a chance to save everybody some money. We'll see what response I get from them.
