No suggestions, but thinking of a similar trip so following.
I have the RR and an Incubator 40... I get large gaps on the side, which results in cold spots. I had to use a piece of shock cord that goes across the top of the hammock to pull the sides in. ...
Hoot and I are planning a trip down there right now... Thinking of parking at Forth Smith lake (mile marker 1 of the OHT) and getting a shuttle to Potato Knob (mile marker 22)... The sites look...
Got mine hanging in the basement. Had some issues dialing in my HG incubator. But I think I have it now. Time to go watch some TV from the hammock.
Agreed... Love my quilts...
I ordered a new RR and Spindrift sock on Jan 28th. It shipped yesterday and look like it might be here this weekend. Now that is some quick turnaround.
LOved them both. Thanks for sharing.
I love my BBO... I have had it down into the 20s with a 40degree TQ and was pretty warm. Not discounting the sock option, but the BBO adds a good 10 to 15 degrees to the inside of the Blackbird.
I was gonna text you about that... When did that happen?
Order for some webbing placed... :) Thanks
Welcome from KC... Check out this post for an upcoming event near KC. You will learn a ton by being out there with folks...
KS>Woodridge>Dec 14th-15th
I think we should change his trail name to Speedy... Just saying!
Sorry about being late to respond, but I have been resting up and staying away from the computer. Anyways, I wanted to thank both Skygzr and Hoot for a wonderful time... Even though it wasn't...
Hoot made mine and they are not even close to that long. Take a look at this video, this guy has his mod all set up and this is exactly what I have now...

Love the video and it is great to see you back out in the backcountry. Looking forward to more videos.
Love my HG Camo cuban winter tarp. It comes in at 9.1oz with tie outs, Dutch Tarp Fliez and pole mod for the side pull outs. Not too shappy.
Yours looks great!
Were these shots taken with your iPhone? they look great...
Two weeks in the row Skygzr? You are the man :)
Just to update everyone... We have a plan.
Attendees:
Kerflop
Skygzr
Hoot (WOOO HOOO, was a little worried there)
The Plan:
Hoot and I are coming from KC, so we are going to...
Crap!!! Nothing more to say :(
And not to scare anyone off, but we will have limited day light with decent miles. We aren't going to be sprinting, but we will be going at a good pace... Up early and on our way most likely.
...
And I am all married up and back from the Caribbean... I was speaking with Hoot yesterday. Gonna sync with Skygzr and finalize the plan. I am so looking forward to this trip...
I took Hoot's comment to mean that he wasn't going on this trip.
Crap, haven't had time to check the forum and when I do I see that RS is out.... That sucks.
If there is a way to stay the night at bell without a 16 mile day that would be great. If not, then oh well. Can we start early in Weds? For those of is on the western side of the state, we could...
Sounds good Disco... Work has been busy for me too... Skygzr, I look forward to seeing the plan. :)
This is gonna be a blast. I personally do not care who joins us, as long as you can keep up... :) I hear Ramen moves like the wind.
Thats a great find. Thanks
I have this exact model, and it is fantastic. I used it for years to Geocache, loading GPX files from GSAK. I haven't used it in awhile, mostly because of the quality of GPS one can get in their...
I do the same, but carry the toggles. I just use a stick as my toggle when I get to where I am going. It is a small weight savings, but it is a savings.
Welcome... There are many of use from around the state. Where are you located?
I emailed zPacks about a custom one, just to price it out. It will probably cost a million or so ;)
Why isn't one of the cottage vendors making these... :) This is genius...
Love HG...
You must check out the Butterfiled Trial in the Devil's Den state park... Depending on your daily mileage, should could complete this trail with only one overnight. We started early on a Saturday...
My Stick Pic came this week. Very interested in getting out and testing it out.
Sorry about the confusion. This was the first trail I ever attempted. Haven't been back since, even though I have wanted to.
It's been a while since I have been there, but yes, Ashland is right.
Love the idea and what you guys are doing. A bit too heavy for me to back over on KS. But when you get an UL version I would be interested. Keep up the great work!!!
Just because you voice your opinion about the forum, on a subject you think will make it better, doesn't mean you do not like the forum. The adage that if it ain't broke don't fix it is bull, in my...
On the flip side, I skip many conversations on the board because there is so much "Agreed" or "I feel the same" etc. A thumbs up type of mechanism would reduce some of the superfluous post as well...
I understand the ask... I do not always what to respond but greatly appreciate the post. It would be great to "Thank" or "+1" or something just so the poster knows that what they post is...
Yeah, and Rod has already shipped the item. I am very impressed. The cottage vendors out there are amazing...
I posted on that thread.
I have wanted to purchase a Stick Pic for a while now. I know many of the folks here have bought one (or more than one), but I am not a videographer and was never in a big hurry. Well I wanted to...
Was a Royal Ranger myself. There is a hang sometime soon in Columbia. I am sure folks there may have Cuban.
Viper, if you make it up to the KC area shoot me a PM. I have mine in Camo you can look at.
Welcome to the forum, there are tons of us from the MO area that can help.
There is a get together in the columbia area soon... check here for more info.
YOu could go there and get flooded...
I have the Hammock Gear camo Cuban Tarp and it was a bit annoying the first night I was in it. All that crinkling. But you get use to it very quickly and now it doesn't bother me. Also, it is...
Crinkely, yes. Transparent, yes. But it wasn't so bad that it makes a difference to me. But it sounds like it might to you. You should find someone local to you and check it out.
