Me in the BB. We were at the Rockland County Feis and I saw a few minutes before tuning to catch some down time. As...
The only time my Superfly "leaked" was when the CRL was underneath and the torrential rain ran along it and dripped inside. Otherwise the ridge line of the SF has not failed as issued by Warbonnet
Looked at the calendar in the kitchen the other day. My smart *** son writes "End o' the world, M'Kay" in for Friday's events.
I'd have to vote Superfly. I love my Maccat Deluxe, but the Superfly is my go-to for winter camping. Can't beat doors.
Cracked me up. Thanks for the laugh in a downward-spiraling day.
Grab a set of 10 ft ratchet straps at home depot (where I got mine), lowes or harbor freight. Look for 400 lb working load. Should be about $10. Using the part without the ratchet, cut off the...
I used my WBBB at OLS and hope to use it for wood badge. Haven't gotten the all clear yet. Definitely garnered some interest from the other leaders and may have even made a convert or two.
That's possibly the coolest thing I've ever seen. Huge bragging right too, to say they actually built it themselves. Thanks for the pics.
I'll take the cook kit if it's still available. PM inbound.
for splicing 7/64 or 1/8 amsteel, I use a piece of 18 AWG wire. I pull it out of some 18-8 thermostat wire I have laying around. 8 fids and dirt cheap.
Sorry, I'm dead in the water. **** tires. You're up.
3rd place? Missed another one....
What about 2 inch pvc or the like for the ridge pole? Would it work against a compressive load? You could use threaded adapter fittings to break it into sections to make it more portable and it's...
I'm in for 20.
Winter? When did it get here?
Ordered mine up yesterday. Can't wait to try them out. The extra amsteel has been sitting there staring at me, waiting to get used.
+1. That way I don't lose them.
Great tarp. I bought it for a winter set-up, but it would definitley be a good option in warmer weather too, if you like privacy.
would make for a heck of a story though.
2011 models all frame sizes. $139.

Very cool, Red. I like your railroad track anvil.
Interested but no funds. Seems to be the theme of the week. Hopefully I'll get some cash; tomorrow is payday after all.
Who knows? You may even get the right person to amend the rule. Well, we can hope anyway. Never underestimate the power of politeness.
Well done, sir. Remember, it all comes around.
I'm relatively new to this and would definitely be interested in making my 1st group hang. Please keep us posted.
Adjusting the whoopie with even the hammock weight on it may prematurely abraid the tree hugger and speed up failure. Make sure you check your equipment before you put your butt in it or you may end...
I have no shame and have dropped trow in public many times in my life. Boxers are technically "shorts" anyway. In the company of small children or when changing my skivvies, a towel works like a...
Used this trick on the Klondike Derby over the weekend. Temp dropped to 18 degrees. My son (in his tent and 20 degree bag) woke up in the morning with nary a complaint of chills. It supplemented...
Beautiful spot, thanks for sharing. Also great idea on the tea light warmer.
Is it taken yet? If not i'd be interested. PM headed your way.
I made Self tensioning guy lines from 1.75 lash-it. They are about 10 ft long fully extended.
+1 for Animated knots. Great website.
On youtube, Tying it all together's page is pretty good too, and, of course, Opie's page for splicing.
Thanks for sharing your video. Great group and what a back yard. Can't beat Old World beauty. Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!
Not to mention, once you have the spool on hand, you find enough uses for the zing-it that the 180' spool just seems to disappear.
Absolutely. This place is awesome. Merry Christmas all!
Quite succinct. I like the illustrations.
We are definitely in a heat wave here in NYC. The Outside air sensor here at work hit 62 today. First full day of winter.......
Sweet looking hammock. Enjoy the hang.
Excellent. Thanks again.
Go for the new tarp. That way you have a summer set-up and winter set-up, or use it as a loaner. You can never have too many tarps.
By the way, do you use the permatex straight? if not what do you use to thin it?
Can't get the song out of my head. Thanks for that.....
Congrats to the winners and thanks Fronkey!
I've attached my WBBB side tie outs to the stakes for my tarp. Worked like a champ, using the shock cord they came rigged with. 2 less stakes that time but now I tie off to whatever trail sticks...
Maybe a few nails would do the trick.:scared::lol:
But seriously, it sounds like they may be a bit too stiff to cinch down tight. Maybe a few washings with fabric softener and machine drying. ...
Thanks all for the feed back. I figured I was in the clear, but wanted to get some field test results. I'll probably do the pullouts with the Permatex, just to be safe, but am glad to hear there is...
any leakage at the pull-outs?
Even if it doesn't work (which it will) as well as you wanted, strike while you can, read while the better half is even slightly willing. Rescue the young one from the pad!
Warbonnett's site says you shouldn't have to seal the ridgeline. I haven't tested it out yet. Anyone have any input as to necessary or not?
