I went with a wider hem on each end and left a channel if I decide to try knottys way. First will try the whipped end and see how the sides adjust.

Thanks Mad, I was going with the gathered end on the first try so I can try and adjust the edge to get rid of the floppy edges.....1/2 sound right to me.
