I agree with the Wooki. I've tried multiple hammocks and forms of insulation and it is easily the easiest and most comfortable. But if I had to use a pad I would use the Klymit Static V.

Here's a website that has excellent maps for kentucky backpacking: https://www.outragegis.com/trails/shop/. Wherever you decide, I would pick up these maps which show where campsites are located.

I had the ridgerunner and didn't like it. I didn't like packing the spreader bars, too bulky. I also didn't like the feeling of falling out of it. I used a 3/4 lynx underquilt and also got cold...
I've tried hammock camping a few times. I've gone back to the ground because of reasons like not being able to get comfortable or having a cold backside. I actually told my wife to not let me get...
It looks like the weather is going to be best on Friday night so I plan to go down on the 24th instead.
Anyone interested in a trip to the Red arrived Gorge this coming weekend? I'm not 100% yet but I'm probably going. Just waiting another day or so to make sure the weather isn't going to be stormy. ...
My favorite piece of gear is a sheet of 1/8" upholstery foam that is about 31/2 by 5 feet. It's great to lay on by the fire, spread out below the hammock, rest stops, etc. it weighs very little yet...
I'm actually off on Wednesday.
I'll let you know of any trips I do. I'm planning on going on Mar. 25-26 weekend.
Thanks for the invite. I'll check it out.
Well, this is the 3rd time I've gotten back into hammock camping. I hope it works out this time. I've spent a lot of money over and over again. :scared:
My first foray into hammocks was with a...
I hope it's a good deal. I ordered one.
I'm thinking about getting back into hammocks again. The Wooki has me excited that I might actually be able to sleep in a hammock. I quit the last time after having a cold back side all of one...
I'm in Richmond, just south of Lexington.
Hi,
I'm looking for someone to go backpacking. My backpacking buddy moved away.
I'm experienced and have led multiple group hikes with the Cincinnati and Louisville Backpacking Meetup groups....
It is less then 2 years old. It has the same suspension as the one on the website and as far as the draft collars. It has the Cinches to tighten it up on each end to reduce the draft.
Thanks

I've responded to all PMs and updated the list of remaining items. Everybody should have an email with their tracking numbers for tomorrow.
"Im sure its a simple oversight, and the Dutch hooks with 12' of Zing-it for $6.50 should be marked SOLD also, as I claimed them, correct?"
It was an oversight. It's fixed now.
"Are the marmot pants new?"
They are used. The only thing I can find that shows that they've been used however is a scuff on the plastic snap on one ankle cuff. Everything else looks like new.
I've responded to all PMs and updated the list of remaining items. Next shipment will go out Wednesday.
I think I have everything ironed out and responded to all PMs and posts.
If you buy something please post the items when you send your paypal.
First shipment is going out today.
Thanks...
Traveler is pending. Zing-it the is left is 225' for $31.
The burrow is still available and is standard length and width.
Yes, both standard.
Single layer
This past year has been my third attempt at trying to sleep in a hammock. I've tried to train myself to sleep on my back but I'm a side and stomach sleeper. And thus, I've decided to sell all of my...
I'm interested in a tarp with doors for winter. Are these two about the same thing?
I bought both an WB Edge and a WL Tadpole. I bought the Tadpole initially when I ordered a Snipe. Previously...
I've had a double 1.1 before and IMO 1.1 almost feels too thin and whispy. I really like the feel of the 1.5 and the Snipe is my favorite hammock too. The 1.5 feels just right between 1.1 and 1.7.
I'm going to allow a few extra that's not in the total.
I didn't allow +1s because there are so many people actually on the site that don't get the chance to go on trips. There are hundreds of...
OK, did this again!
But now I'm finally posting the trip in 5 minutes.
Ack, I got busy with family and forgot to post the meetup last night. I'll get it on the site tonight.
I'm getting my burrow and incubator Monday. Adam is such a great person to buy from. I can't wait!
No, you don't have to join meetup. I'm saving a few spots for people here. But I encourage you to join. It enables you to look at who is going along and keep up on the conversation about the trip.
It is about 50 minutes East of Lexington. The closest city on the way is Stanton.
The exit is the "Slade" exit.
Here's how to join meetup.
Go to meetup.com and sign up, it's free. Find the Cincinnati Backpackers group by searching for "cincinnati backpackers". It defaults to a 25 mile radius, so it...
I've decided to commit to doing this as a backpacking trip. However, I'm surprised by the lack of interest in this trip. I think I'm going to go ahead and post this as a Meetup trip with the...
I have to vouch that she makes a great product and is also great to work with. She made sure I got what I wanted when I didn't even know I wanted it. :)
I've done the exact same thing. I got down to a ULA CDT pack at about 14-15 lbs. I didn't have a lot of fun not being able to sleep. I went up a size to the ULA Circuit and carry a conservative...
I got the same thing. The M90 is soft.
I'm not sure about the size. It wants to slip out a lot but I've only used it once overnight.
Is your shock cord long enough. If I attach it to...
Happy Birthday! Looks like a great campsite.
I never can wait to get out of the tent but it's so hard to get out of the hammock. I just want to lay there all day.
This is what I do. Works great. If you use straps, bring ziplocks to stick them in.
I was going to wait until fall for a 20 degree burrow but couldn't pass this up!
Indian Staircase area including the giant rock house and Indian Arch, Cloudsplitter, and Hanson's Point if we go the backpacking route.
I'm beginning to put the details together on organizing a trip for Hammockforums that I've led a few times with Meetup.com. I've led multiple trips for the Cincinnati and Louisville Meetup Groups. ...
Cult of Shug? Meetings at night around a fire in the middle of the woods. A huge following of worshipers. Lots of alcohol use. Any of this sound familiar?
This is exactly what I would expect someone to say that's trying to cover up something.
I was watching Shug's video of the Hammockforum's Frozen Butt Hang last night. I noticed at about the 47 second mark if you look into the reflection around the 6 degree readout, you'll see the face...
He made it right. He replaced all of the pieces that I thought weren't up to standard. The new ones are excellent.
No, I figured I wasn't doing something right. You've got too good of a reputation here to cuss you. The under quilt kept nice and warm, just tight across my face.
I spent the first night out with my new Phoenix 3/4 40 degree. It was also one of the worst nights out.
I've practiced adjusting the Phoenix at home. It seems very tight on my Snipe compared to...
