I have the same underquilt with extra Insultex sewn in. It comes with a big mesh bag for storage and it fits into a smaller 8x8 bag. Paul makes some quality stuff.
It was not me but I sure hope they had a good tarp, it rained all day.
Let me think...NO
My stuff goes in my Duluth pack that has a plastic liner and then it goes under the tarp. It is too heavy to put on my suspension.
The longest time for me has been seven days in the BWCA.
Harpo is right,I have one of the New River with the IX sewn in. Very warm underquilt. Nice job Paul!:)
Not sure, Mine is packed for a trip this weekend. Maybe Paul can help at Arrowhead Equipment.
I got to get some of that material.:lol:
The ENO webpage says it is 6' 8" x 9' 10"
Try starting out with the ridgeline at 100 inches. I have the same hammock and it is fine at 100".
Canoeski, I like the tripod idea, will try to remember this for June.
I like to go camping in the Boundary Waters Canoe Area Wilderness in northern Minnesota. Some times the campsites do not have two trees in an area that I want to hang. One is in the right spot but a...
Welcome aboard Gunny, I agree that the ENO is a good hammock. From yet another Mn hanger
same as Gnome Patrol, in the old slap strap bag.
CCS makes some awesome tarps. The one that Boundary water hammocker is talking about is a tundra tarp. From what I have heard they make them colorful for use in rescue situations. I found a picture...
I have a ENO doublenet. I took off the suspension and replaced it with Whoppie slings and straps. Also added a SRL made from WS. I added a bugnet, fly, and AHE underquilt. I now have it dialed in :D
I have used these for a few years on my rain fly used for camping. I have never had any sliding issues but they do leave a bump in the fabric. The manufacturer Sierra Designs shows a picture of these...
The New River is an underquilt and the long version weights 32 oz. I also got the Insultex sewn in so mine weighs more.
I just received my KAQ New river and I love it, no more pads that move around and CSS. I also have the ENO bug net, well made.
Thanks for the quick service Paul. I set it up and I could not believe how much heat that this underquilt traps. I put my hand inside between the hammock and the underquilt and it was warm. :) It...
i just received my KAQ today from Paul. It is a long version with InsulTex added. It came with a small carry bag and a large mesh bag. It fits in the mesh bag loose. I would think that it should...
Welcome Sotaram, I'm also from Minnesota too, ya sure you betcha. I'm also tired of sleeping on the ground. I just joined this forum and have learned so much. It has also cost me $300 in gear:lol:. I...
Welcome TheLearn, Another Minnesotan here that goes to the BWCA. I will be hanging there in a few months.
Triggerhpy, I hope to see my New river underquilt in tomorrows mail. Also an early B-day present from my wife. Did you get the KAQ InsulTex Upgrade --Sewn In?
I will be going on a canoe trip to the BWCA in northern Minnesota this June. I will be using my ENO hammock with my Arrowhead New River underquilt. I will be using a 30 deg bag. The temps last year...
I hope to get ten nights this year in my Hammock.
Without a doubt that is the most uncomfortable thing I have ever seen.:scared:
Riverkeeper, It will be 31 years of marriage in August.:boggle: :boggle: My wife remembers everything:lol::lol::lol:
I pulled the trigger and ordered one. I can't wait to try it out. Thanks all for the help.
Man did you rack up the points. :D It should come in handy some day:laugh:
That is a great idea. I will try this out in June on my BWCA trip.
I will be 54 in a few weeks. A hammock is great for my back and hips. In the BWCA there is a average soil depth of a few inches. It is all rock and roots that poke through my tent floor and into my...
Thanks Opie for the quick shipping and quality product. I put it on this afternoon and tried it out. Works great and is easy to adjust for my hammock.
I put my on this afternoon. I really liked that I could dial in the hang fast. Many thanks to Opie for that fast shipping and well made product.
I have now switched to tree straps and Whoopie slings. The bag will now be put into use for carrying the tree straps, marlin spike toggles, and ridgeline. The ENO slapstraps stretched too much for...
I just received my whoopie slings in the mail today and I am going to install them this weekend. I looked at the knot on my hammock. It looks like two loops with the tail that attaches to the clip is...
I am new to hammock camping and I will take the advice to heart Sir n0thing. I will be trying out my new setup in a few months with some friends that will be in tents. I will try to keep my comfort...
Nice upgrade Randy, I will try that with mine, thanks
Thanks for all the help. I will order one soon.
I have a ENO double nest hammock. How will the KAQ New River underquilt work on this hammock. This will be my first underquilt so any advice would be great. I do like this underquilt because of what...
Hi all, I have been camping and canoeing in the BWCA for 31 years. I started out with a nylon net hammock to relax in at the end of a long days paddling. Ten years ago I upgraded to a Byers Hammock....
