I think you misunderstand how I use the cam locks.
They are not on the tree-side but on the hammock-side.
At the tree-side there is only a loop in witch the webbing runs through itself and goes...

I´ve been campin most of my life. In a tent that is.
Recently I was looking for a one man camping solution, tent / bivi /etc. and stumbled on to hammocks.
Since then i have made a DIY prototype...

It looks very good!
This is the kind of smart and easy DIY project that I love as a hammock noob.
