Looking to buy either a Dream Hammocks Thunderbird or Sparrow, with the overcover.
I take my 1.5 yr old German Shepherd with me whenever I set foot in the woods. When I'm spending the night, I'll bring either a piece of tyvek or closed cell foam depending on the temp, and he will...
I (or rather my better half) will take it!
I am also bringing a 2 burner white gas stove if needed by anyone. I can throw my small tailgating propane grill in the car too.
Packing my gear today! Can't wait to see everyone!
I have a few of these. I leave one up outside all summer by the pond, and have gifted a couple out as well. It will fade a bit after sitting out all year through the weather, but I don't notice any...
I normally carry a short tree strap that I use to hang my pack off of one of the trees, and throw a pack cover over it. anything inside the pack I will need goes on either the ridgeline or...
Had a great time at my first MAHHA! Was great meeting everyone in person and getting to see some other setups. Thank you to everyone who helped pull this together!
Can't wait to get there tomorrow! Airsafety, I'm sure if you bring the cordage and tree straps you have, plenty of people will be willing to help you get your tarp rigged up properly on site.
While the 2x4 idea is good if you are worried about the strength of your framing, I would suggest putting it on the wall horizontally and optimally, securing to a few studs along its length. That...
I use a pack liner, and load my quilts in loose (not in their stuff sacks) so they will conform to the pack and the other gear in there. That way once I get it all loaded, those things really...
I bought a couple of the Parachute hammocks at Sports Authority (found them on a bottom shelf, they didn't even know they had them) in the spring for about $25 a piece. permanently hung one up...
looking to buy an underquilt similar to a JRB Nest for a hennessy scout. GF wants to start tagging along, and thats my spare hammock. She gets cold quite easily due to Raynaud's syndrome so I would...
Looks like I'm a few minutes late, but I occasionally use a scout. I'm 5'8" and 155 and dont have any issues. I'm probably about maxing it out though. If you can afford the upgrade, do it, its only...
If you are car camping/group hanging in mixed company, it may make sense to bring one of these:...
KAQ Jarbidge River is a nicely priced UQ for slightly warmer weather. You probably want the 1 season for what you are describing (I have the 3 season and its quite toasty). It is a unique size that...
I close the weather shield on the Clark and change inside the hammock. I'm a smaller guy so with the tarp hung high I have plenty of room. I'll sit indian style and sorta lift myself up/crouch as...
Liked! Some nice work you have posted!
Thanks guys, I took Cranky Bear up on his Aarn pack and met up with him earlier today. "Great guy, would do business again! A+++" and so forth, now to get this thing adjusted!
I would certainly buy a Jam at that price, but unfortunately they are all sold out :(
Cranky Bear, I am certainly interested, so PM is inbound!
So I have decided it is time to upgrade my oversized and extremely heavy pack. I have no problem giving a much loved and used pack some more love and use, and can't justify some of the new pack...
I'm 5'8" and 150lbs, just ordered a jarbridge because I'm also a side/semi fetal sleeper. I use a 0 deg. 850 fp down mummy bag as my winter top quilt and a 40 deg marmot aspen minimalist mummy I got...
I'll second that. Everything I've ever gotten from Paul has been top quality. I just got shipping notification for my Jarbridge and a couple other misc items yesterday, and now I'm refreshing the...
It is also the spring busy season for most of the cottage vendors, so turn around times will certainly be longer for some. I made the same mistake and waited till the busy season to place my orders,...
Köppen also makes a line of clothes with their "No Fly Zone" technology that is infused with permethrin, supposedly good for up to 70 washings. I have a pair of the Torrant pants.
...
I use a Clark North American most of the time here in the northeast US, but the only issue I ever have is that sometimes it gets hot inside with the bug net closed- I attribute this to the incredibly...
I have to agree with the UQ. Its easy to find something to pass as a TQ, like a sleeping bag, pile your clothes on you, use some other blankets, etc, but a good UQ is absolutely essential.
heres my solution to this now that the weather is cold:
Fleece footy pajamas!
my family cracks up at it but its warm and comfy. I dont have to worry about keeping a blanket around me in the...
looking to pick up a HH Scout for my kid brothers birthday. He's turning 13 and I'm trying to get him out in the woods more and away from the playstation and tv! he enjoys going camping with me on...
just ordered whoopie slings from you. I would certainly order the reflective cordage as well. cant wait to see what else you add!
Ive just started my test hang as well. I took my Clark NA out a few times car camping with the family and loved it, but now have it set up in the basement to hone my skills. :D I'm a winter person...
