SOLD to Jhunt
I love this tarp so much, but being laid off with the Christmas fast approaching I'm reluctantly willing do give this beauty up. I paid $325 for it originally with the added custom panel pulls. It...
Wags got a cuben upper 0* UQ from HG and it was 21oz on my scale, same as listed weight basically for a non cuben. My personal preference is not to use cuben in an UQ. I had one briefly and found...
Dutch made the first PM so it's his pending payment.
Looking to sell my whisp. For those of you who don't know, It is an UL windshirt that was very popular but is no longer made. In great condition, no blemishes. It's a large. I am 5'8" 178lbs 41"...
The other night here in central PA the mercury dipped down to a crisp 13 with a bit of windchill. I took the opportunity to test my new UQ. Being that I do almost all of my hanging while backpacking,...
Did you make those draft tubes, and are they attached via velcro? Also, were they necissary? I have had a leighlo without tubes and had no problem, but I have had a HG and wished I had draft tubes...
I've generally had good and prompt replies in the past. As of late, been having a difficult time communicating with them. Ordered, 4 weeks later got a quilt, wrong quilt... email... 5 more weeks then...
My thoughts exactly. I am a 70% side sleeper, but more of a fetal side sleeper. A bridge IMO is actually much worse than a GE for people who sleep fetal. I felt uncomfortable alot with the sides of...
I feel the same way, and leave mine snapped. I know that they would fix it, but the run-around of getting it back and forth is worse IMO than just venting from the drawstring.
If you go up to peters mtn, there is a shelter off the AT about 3 miles in to test your stuff at. Also, about half the way to the shelter, you will come to table rock. There are a few hanging spots...
I'm always around. You may have seen me and wags hanging in the area. Sometime soon here we will be going out, I will keep you posted. There are others in the area such as myles to go and mph5......
I think your in the teens as far as sectors go... based upon your distance from minnesota:lol: Nice report, hate possums.
Very nice objective review. I look forward to reading your blog in the future. I have a cuben/7d on the way myself:)
I have heard good things about wilderness logics, you will have to post your opinions after some field use. I too value customer service from cottage guys. That and customizations is what keeps me...
Only happened to me when I was put on Wellbutrin to quit smoking a few years back... was scary enough to get me to go cold turkey when i finally did. Not in a hammock though. If it happened in the...
May I ask how your UL ripped in half?
High mileage days without significant prep make me feel similar. When we recently did the Loyalsock, we planned for 4 days, so we did it in 4... but that worked out to be a 12,15,18,15 mile days. I...
Selling the 3s Crowsnest and such can only mean one thing... someone is saving for a new upgraded cuben phoenix! It will sell soon.
any idea on temp rating?
I've had them not end well... hope you're ok.
Thanks, just checking.
I know that Idealy down is stored hung, completely uncompressed. I am wondering what level of compression is acceptable for storage. For instance, in a sealed plastic bag that is very large, or in a...
Yeah I saw your trip report... thought we may get rained out as well but it held out. Definately not one of my top places to get stuck in a storm.
Nevermind... I'm #848:D Put a kilt on that watermonkey!
is that the cuben with 1.1 or some other uberlite material?
All Sold and Shipped
Good to know! I love comparisons like that, and it is a main reason why I participate in these forums. I actually won mine in a contest, and probably would never have bought them, but for the 2oz...
I have a pair of goosefeet, basically the same thing, and they are well worth it. I use a fractional UQ and they pay the bills in the winter!
BMBH Sold pending funds
You know how we do
Seems more common lately. His gear gets alot of love though. I have seen his tarps and they look great... my only experience with him was ordering guylines from him about 1 1/2 year ago. The lines...
He was actually quite off the trail on an outcrop at the pinnacle. But even if he was I likely would not have TBH :scared:
UQ is sold. BMBH sale in the works, will update.
I think the soup weighed more than my hammock, tarp, and possibly UQ combined.
Had some fun hiking on the AT here in PA, and figured I'd share our experiences :)

The site seems to be having an issue embedding right now so u can also see it here
To clarify, the UQ is designed for a bridge, but I used it on my GT UL and it works fine.
I went to ground for 3 out of a 4 night trip doing high mileage due to a gear failure. I had a tiny wally sit pad and that was it. It was not as good as the hammock of course, but TBH was not...
For sale 1 JRB bear mountain bridge hammock and 1 3s Custom for bridge Leighlo UQ. The JRB Hammock has a repair to the webbing that the Jacks did themselves, and is a very neat repair. Everything...
You are looking alot more ultralight these days SBD :) I know it takes alot of planning and money to get to UL status, but i bet you felt the benefits on this trip!
i look forward to your unbiased opinion so that I can feel confident ordering mine:D
by "weighing" your options, I presume you are considering the weight of a cuben phoenix or 7D to add to your UL setup. I could be wrong, but I would be proud of you if this was the reasoning behind...
now is the peapod good down to and below 0* or would you need the polar pod? What is the difference?
Welcome. Your country is on the top of my hiking/hanging bucket list.
Thanks for the prompt answer to the questions!
The first I heard rumor of cuben being used on a down UQ, 2 questions came to mind...
1) How would the laundering of said product work? I know that down items are minimally laundered, but loosing...
On my first night hike we had gusts of 60mph, but i couldn't be sure we got that strong on the side of the mtn we were on. Those were responsible for the patch that is in my wb edge.
not for my knee but i use one. I see no reason why this won't work for your knees, and it is super light and surprisingly durable.
last bump...
