I wish I could attend. Sadly I will be out of town doing family stuff for the holiday. Hopefully you do another hang in the spring. I'll mark that one down on my calendar.

Great product. Even with my front mesh pocket stuffed, this should allow me to stuff more gear on top of that. Definitely worth a try.

I'm sure that Dutch will work with you to make a special length bug net. I am a short guy and use 10' hammocks and he was more than happy to make a 10' fronkey net, before they were widely available.
Bundle #2, please :)
I have a 2012 version of the Osprey Exos 34 (Orange and Grey) Size M. Used a handful of times on day hikes. It would be an excellent pack for aspiring UL backpackers, or anyone who wants a light...
I'm in for bundle #2
Keep this thread going. My buddy and I would be interested in a meet-up with you all in the ADKs sometime :)
Thank you for the great review. The photos really help tell your story. The Edge was my first tarp, and is my loaner tarp when I take others out with me. Glad to see the Edge live on, even if it...
The New York State Hammock Hangers Facebook group is having a group meetup in May. Once dates firm up I will share the info here.
Absolutely. Late March would probably be a good target date. Once the winter weather breaks and people can get their 20* quilts out again ;)
Once a date is hammered down I can x-post this to...
I'm down for a NYS hang, but not in the winter. Good luck to you in your frozen butt hang. Call me in the spring ;)
My biggest tip for getting a great fit for your underquilt: put the quilt on your hammock the way you think it should be adjusted and lay in the hammock. Then, have a buddy or your wife or whatever...
Welcome to the club. I grew up in Michigan. Beautiful place to hike and camp. I'm running around Western New York now, and I love it. Ask a lot of questions and you'll learn a lot here.
When I'm rolling up my superfly and trying to stow it away in my warbonnet snakeskins I'm finding that there are excess pockets of air in my rolled up tarp that I regularly have to deal with. I...
Oh man, The Long Trail! Great choice! The ups and downs look like they're hard... and worth it. Glad you and Hickery are having a great time together. Now the question we're all wondering:...
The WoodsWalker
The Trailrunner
The DreamMachine
The Doppelganger
The Boomer
RIP bank account. We had a good run of saving.
A tour and lunch with Dutch, himself? Pardon me while I Google map how far it is from my house to Dutch's warehouse :D
I sewed a patch onto my pack. I have another to sew on there, just haven't gotten around to it. https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20170923/f862ddeec5f14a06d34d710d7dd5041e.jpg

Thanks for putting this video together, Shug. I have been looking for a good review of the Raven before I dive in, and this one fit the bill.
I've got a couple used-on-one-trip-packs and a couple loaner hammocks I could do without... :D
Hopefully I can make enough to buy a discounted Half-Wit from Dutch himself :cool:
I prefer to camp in the spring and autumn. Though, I always get talked into 1 or 2 summer trips.
I like the spring and fall for different reasons. Spring tends to be muddier, and wetter, whereas...
Are you going to MAHHA?
Don't take it personally. Looks like an absolutely stellar location and land. Very nice of you to offer.
As an FYI, the fall MAHHA hosted by Dutch is that same weekend. I know a lot of other...
Shug, when are you coming out with your video review on the Raven hammock?
Charcoal grey and orange is the best color combo out there, if you ask me. (Though few do :P )
I have charcoal grey 3 season quilts, and they go with just about anything. Heck, they look great...
PapaSmurf that is one good looking rig. Is that blaze or burnt orange?
Really good episode. It was neat hearing Stormcrow tell his story. I even learned a couple new things about how my Incubator and Phoenix should be fitting, so I consider it a win/win haha!
You'll love it. MY DH is my go-to hammock. Doesn't come any more comfy than that!
Really great podcast. Was surprised that it was 2 hours, because they seemed to fly by. Stormcrow is a really fun interview to listen to. Actually picked up some insight on how to properly lay in...
The "wild side" of Letchworth, the part where the Letchworth trail runs, is where all of the good hammocking is. However, they won't let you hammock. You need to call the park office to reserve the...
I'm jealous. I wish I could get that kind of time away so I could do that. Hiking. Hammocking. Kayak fishing. The dream!
Brandon is really funny. That was a really fun episode. Thanks for sharing.
I love the LHHT. For me, it is brutal on the best of days, let alone when there are rivers coming down the trail. This whole video series was really good and made me remember my trip there a few...
Every MAHHA falls on a week where I am on-call. Every. Single. One. If it wasn't for bad luck I wouldn't have any luck at all. Oh well... maybe next year :/
The cottage vendors as a whole on this forum always go above and beyond to help out. Warbonnet is no exception. I've dealt with Warbonnet, Arrowhead, Dream Hammock, Dutch, and HammockGear and have...
Here is a couple pictures of my evergreen superfly from a couple weeks ago....
I wish I could do the challenge, but I'm on call that week (boooo!)
Nobody should be scared away by the 20d version of these tarps. I have had mine out on a couple trips since getting it. One in a very rainy, blowing rain, windy night. I had no reservations...
I'm also a dedicated left lay guy. I love my Darien... a lot. I have been tossing between the Dangerbird and the Raven for the removable net. Hmmm....
Item withdrawn due to lack of serious offers/interest.

Morning bump
The Raven is really tempting me. How does it play with quilt hooks and tie outs? The video says the net stays taut without tie out hooks needed. Can anyone confirm from in-field usage? Any other...

Another good trip report. I always look forward to your trip reports, Dave. The pictures look great. Sounds like you had a really good time on the trail. Was that the maiden voyage for the Ohm...
A week in Georgia starting from Springer is definitely on my bucket list. I may not have time to hike the whole trail, but I can definitely feel like a thru hiker for a week. Good review. Glad you...
You'd probably have more friends if you stopped the complaining about the heat and bugs  hahahah
This is the situation I'm in now. My wife is EXTREMELY nervous about me going solo. It gives her piece of mind when I go with someone else knowing that if something goes awry I'm not screwed. ...
Good luck on finding a buddy to go hiking with. Be sure to share your trip report on here if your trip comes together.
