Holy cow ... how did I not see this thread before today? My favorite camping area is just east of Clayton. Close enough to civilization for supply runs, but far enough out that there isn't cell...
Welcome to the site. The guys around here will answer all of your questions.

Welcome out of the shadows from a GA guy. I grew up in Smyrna and can vouch for your local area.

I used a set of carbon arrow shafts for about 4 years. When that set started showing some wear, I swapped them out. For some reason, the replacement set and 2 other sets only lasted a few hangs...
Another hello from a GA hanger. Welcome aboard.

Welcome aboard. If you have any questions, just ask.

Good luck on the ride and happy hammocking along the way. I keep telling myself that I will participate, but I haven't joined in yet.

Welcome to the non-lurking side. You live in a great area to enjoy hanging as a hobby.

I watched the video earlier. Great job. I’ve got to get the kids out there. They would really enjoy it. Thanks for sharing your trip.
Welcome from the other side of the city.
Wow! Nice route. I just need to find time to escape work and hit the trail.
I will have to try this fabric out for my wife's hammock. She doesn't care for the way my ponchos liners feel and quite often lays a cotton sheet in her hammock when we camp. I bet this will be the...
Thanks for the trip report and the pics. Hate to hear about the knee pain, I know that is a bummer. Is there going to be an video also?
STinGa
I know that it has been mentioned, but great pics. Thanks for sharing.

This is very true. Most people think that GA = south = warmth, but you can definitely hit cold weather up in the mountains. There are plenty of places to explore in north GA. Have fun on your trip...
Looks quite relaxing. My large dog acts as my insulation also. Stay safe.

Very nice set of videos. I’m glad that your were able to work with them and have such a well made piece produced. I guess I am one of your targeted fans since I do get to live vicariously through...
Welcome to the site from another GA hanger.

Welcome to the site from a Lawrenceville hanger. TrailSlug posted a great list ^. If you have any questions, just ask. Someone will answer up quickly.

My wife was a math major in college … not much gets by her. Lol
Luckily, I’ve gotten her addicted to hanging.
STinGa
Thanks for taking us along. It's always good to live vicariously through others' videos.
STinGa
Thanks. This was our third time driving the entire route. I don't think it will ever get old. There are so many side trips and places to explore.
Well to the forums. The people around here are pretty easy going.
STinGa
Thanks ... that one belongs to daughter #3 and she loves anything purple. It is pretty vibrant.
That was our first morning and breakfast stop on the road … just north of Mt. Pisgah.
My local school system just had their first ever fall break. Rather than hang around the house and twiddle our thumbs, we checked the weather and tentatively planned a trip ... I really don't trust...
Thanks for sharing your trip. It looks like you guys have a good time together.
Thanks for the link. I've checked several local stores and no one has these. I'll be placing an order tomorrow. I am estimating that my final length on the poles will be 9 feet long. The 4.5 feet...
2 quick questions ... why did you go with the EMT rather than a chain link fence top rail? Would plasti-dip be the solution to the sliding lashings?
Thanks,
STinGa
Welcome to the site from a Lawrenceville hanger. This motley bunch will be glad to answer any questions you may have.

OTMC … welcome to the site from someone just down the road in L’ville. The people here are pretty darn friendly and will help out with any questions you may have.

Is a 6 on a 1 - 5 scale the same as an 11 on a 1 - 10 scale? We all know that 11 is one better than 10.
STinGa
Welcome to the site from a L’ville hanger.
I also agree with the cheap large tarp. If the rain isn't blowing sideward, my family likes hanging out and relaxing under one. Books, books, books. Everyone loves reading, so we stock up before...
Thanks for taking us along. Nice video, as always.
Tom
Thanks! They are all great kids, but definitely keep me busy. They all enjoy getting out and exploring nature.
Thanks for the offer. Three has always been enough until this trip. :) With mixed emotions, this may be that last full family camping trip. The two older girls have been accepted to different...
You are right. I saw today that the overlook is being closed during the repair period. All of the supplies were staged off to the side of the walkway.
It’s been a while since I’ve posted a trip report, but I have just come back from a week in the N. GA. mountains and wanted to share some pics. It rained much more than we wanted, but we stayed...
I can’t add / download anything to my work computer. Thanks for the info tho.
STinGa
Great times. Get the kids hooked on the outdoors when they're young and they will keep returning.
STinGa
Great trip report. Your videos are always fun to watch, so I will sit here and try to be patient.
Try … to … be … patient.

Welcome to the forums.

I have hung at both Peaks of Otter and Crabtree Falls with no problem. Without doing some research, I can't remember which state parks I have stayed in that are close to the BRP ... to have the...
Great post. Thanks for sharing.

Welcome to the site. Don’t know if you have hit YouTube, but there are several members here that have excellent channels. Shug has the best intro to hammock series.
STinGa
That really looks sharp. Congrats on your new pack.
STinGa
Great pics. Thanks for sharing.

I love that area. I have been there several times. Settling in to watch the video now.
