Up for grabs is my AHE Owyhee 25 degree TQ. It is black inside and out, not a single thing wrong with it. Selling because I'm looking to upgrade to a different TQ. I would estimate between 15 and 20...
Wow this is incredible! The tie outs look genius, and the colors look great on all the gear. Brb gonna go drool over some of these hammocks on their website lol

This is hard to believe! Staying warm is a struggle here in NC anywhere below 20 for me, we rarely go into single digits at all lol

I've heard good things about the Greylock, hope you love it! I've gone into the 20s comfortably with my Jarbidge, however I used a foot pad and a butt pad both cut out of CCF

Shug had a video where he piled up snow on both sides of the tarp to "seal it"... seemed smart to me. That being said it did not take care of the ends (where the doors are) and I personally think...
Never really put much thought into it other than widowmakers. The way I see it I can be prepared for most of the other things. Ex hanging up my pack to get it out of water, doors on tarp etc. so...
I don't personally have figure 9s on my tie outs, but I have used them plenty of other places and they are certainly very easy to do, you can even use them with gloves on.
Don't have any...
Agreed, an 11 foot is all you need IMO, I made my own 11 footer and have never felt that I lacked any coverage whatsoever

Packs up to just slightly bigger than a softball and weighs just between 5 and 6 oz if I remember correctly. I absolutely love mine!

I think there extremely versatile for the tie out points as you mentioned, but they make better emergency car kit/spare kind of tarps IMO, simply due to weight. If weight isn't a concern at that...
I agree with the jarbidge 100%. If you said you would be nearly too broke for a TQ going with a cheaper UQ like the Jarbidge will allow some extra funds to go towards the TQ, and I have 0 complaints...
I find Prussiks work on most material, you just have to adjust the amount of wraps accordingly. For example on bank line I do 3 (could get away with 2) but on something slippery like paracord I use 4...
This.
I always stake out both the shelf and the other pull out on my BB. It just makes a huge difference in the amount of room, and with shock cord, you can easily move it out of the way or just...

I don't use bridge hammocks but I've just learned to deal with it in my gathered end, I typically end up side sleeping as a sort of compromise because I can't fall asleep lying on my back. If...
My personal favorite would be the Dutch worms for guyouts. One caution is if you over tention them the shock cord can snap, you may want to just use regular cord like sing it. Either way, the...
Very helpful! I'm trying to gather all the intel I can on this kind of stuff before I dive into another tarp lol

I've been looking at the bipod stands too... have to do some searching

I know a few people who just stuff it in the bottom of their bag with no stuff sack but I prefer putting it in the sac, I've gone a week or two in the stuff sac without any problem regarding...
Agreeing, with many of the members here, I'd have to say that my Dutch 11' is the most comfortable hammock I've slept in. That being said. I've never tried a SLD or many of the other brands that may...
Yea I'd love to see an integrated bug net version of both Dutch and Walmart. I would admittedly be more likely to buy the Dutch one though [emoji6]

I might be crazy, but I think I'm starting to like my dutchware nylonD 11' more
Than my WBBB XLC. Once I got the BB I never went back to the Dutchware,
Until last week when a friend asked to try...
I'm looking to make some snakeskins as easy as possible, but I don't want to do a loofah skin. I plan on using .9 noseeum for durability
I want to do one long skin, but I'm not sure how to go...
I've just got some Dutch quilt hooks in and I put them on the "ridge line way" in which you hook the 2 shock cord sections to each other over the ridge line. I have not tested this out overnight yet...
I'll be getting mine in the mail today, so this thread has been very helpful. Just curious, who has supplemented a pad with a jarbidge? And if you have, did you experience condensation and was it...
This past weekend I was using my
DIY silpoly tarp and decided to pull out the sides. Since I haven't sewn side panel pullouts, I used a wad of bank line as a "toggle" inside the tarp and put a...
Keep your eye out for one on the for sale section of the forum. You can usually find good deals there.
Congrats. I just recently got an AHE owyhee long TQ and I love it
Just curious, as I'm redoing mine. I'm thinking about msr groundhogs with Lawson glow wire and tarp worms. What do you use? And do you use Tensioners? Apologies if there is a similar topic somewhere...
I could store with the net on. The only reason I didn't was because I wasn't sure if it would fit in the stuff sac with the hammock and suspension. Though I've never tried it. If it does fit, I...
Right now I put up my hammock, then undo the suspension and slide the bugnet on, after that I'll redo the suspension and slide the end of the bugnet to the opposite end of the hammock and cinch down....
Pardon me if this is a stupid question, but I couldn't find he answer anywhere. Do I seam seal the rolled hem on my diy tarp? Thanks.
I'm not sure if I can change the title, I noticed a typo....
Yes I've definitely learned a lesson here!
Try 12! Ugh
Hahaha I like that thinking! I don't mind how it looks, the important thing is that I stay dry. I'll try a patch but I'll probably do that last
So, a whole lotta fabric got caught in one particular area, and after ripping the threads, this is what I'm left with. What on earth do I do now? This sewing is awful :(...
Thanks for all of the help everyone. I fixed that section and have now completed the first stitch on the ridge line without any more difficulties.
So if I just pop the threads I can go over that's small section again and be good? Sorry for the stupid questions I've never really done any sewing on this scale
http://images.tapatalk-cdn.com/15/09/11/e59f09bd522caaf7a92790828ecd0f96.jpg hopefully that picture works. I began sewing my ridge line in my silpoly tarp and apparently caught some extra fabric in...
Enter me in the giveaway! Should I win I will pay it forward with the little amount of extra gear I have.
I have a klymit insulated static v (not lite version) and though I've never used a big Agnes, I have only good things to say about the klymit based off of the few nights I have slept on it in the...
I just recieved my fronkey style bugnet the other day, and was wondering about the shock cord bottom. Do I cinch it as tight as it will go? or should i leave some slack in it so it will conform to my...
Also anticipating some input on this. Lol it could probably make a new thread in its own

A while back on Amazon I bought a pad called "Thermal Camping Pad 1.5mm Thick Foam 80"l X 36"w Double Sided Aluminum". I would link it but It won't find it when I type that in in Amazon. I had to go...
Ok thanks for your help (in this thread and my other) I've found using the plastic tarp grip clips to clip the tarp to the CRL has helped but I will try setting up the ridge line under the tarp.
So I set up my 8x10 tarp over my hammock asym and noticed a big sag along the ridge line. It was on a CRL with Prussiks. Any idea on how to get rid of this?
I'm planning on doing a DIY tarp, and was wondering, what's the advantages or disadvantages to using one over the other? I've heard the silpoly has less stretch, so does that mean I can avoid cat...
Thanks! Just wanted to know asap so if I had to order a new one it would have time to arrive before my upcoming camping trip. I'll definitely try it out when it comes in the mail!
I hope I'm not getting annoying posting these threads asking for peoples input, but here it is: I have a DL 11' hammock on the way from dutch, and I only have an equinox egret 8x10 tarp. With sag in...
