Welcome, from Greenville, SC!
Poppabear: The hammock WAS great! I guess I just had a little to much caffeine that day or something. lol. Will definitely be using it some more and backpacking.
leroybrown: No modifications since...
Well the rain wasn't the problem, maybe besides the loud pitter patter, but I mean in the bed usually I wake up sort of out of a coma I slept so hard, and you say "it must be raining outside".
I try out my remodeled bridge hammock for the first time. A comfortable hang, but no sleep! Maybe next time I'll have to get up early the morning before, work my butt off, and pop a sleeping pill!...
My new diy bridge is 2lb 3oz including suspension and spreader bars....or somewhere close to that, I have an old timey scale. lol

haha, yea sorry GvilleDave, Walmart on Whitehorse Road is mine!

I checked my walmart today, didn't see any :(
It's fairly sturdy, haven't had any problems with it. Weighs about 3-4 oz I think, if my old timey scale is anywhere near accurate.
I did see the...
Joey, I got the Imusa grease pot from Walmart a long while back for like $3-$4.

I don't know if they sell the same kind...
Don't destroy it!! I'll take it if you don't want it! I'll pay for shipping! lol. message me if you want to get rid of it.
Hey dblhmmck, thanks for the comment!
The netting isn't as tight as it may look in the video, except in the upper right corner for some reason, but I wasn't limited in size during recycling it, I...
Bridge hammock: A hammock with webbing sewed into the sides that connect up to the hammock suspension and is spread apart by spreader bars. It gets its name because it's like a suspension bridge....
Thanks everybody for your comments!
Grizz, for the netting I used a 41-48" wide piece of material, 41" normal and 48" when it's stretched if you know what I mean. I just used a rectangular piece that was sewed to the sides, but at the...

Check it out! Even has a suspension break/fall in it, lol.
Franks.
Just an update, I slept in my new bridge hammock last night, and I'll give it a C+. Woke up at 3am and was uncomfortable, so I went back in to the house to bed.
Today I unstitched the webbing and...
Hey Grizz, Thanks for the info. I didn't really know why people were cutting the sides of the body until now, I thought they might have been just removing extra material or something. It still hangs...
I was trying my hammock yesterday, seeing if I was hanging it wrong which was giving me an uncomfortable hang, when it completely ripped apart. This must have been a sign that I needed to go ahead...
Oh yes, made by IMUSA. lol
Went to PMSP, SC 8/28 for a quick solo overnighter. A nice hour hike down to the North Lake, way to pricey at $15, and apparently I have a bad hammock design because I slept horrible. Could not get...
Hey you all can check out my video about the hang here

Well, yea, let me rephrase, I don't think the whole sleeping in the outdoors is for me. I've been thinking about it and I like hiking around, get to the top of a mountain and take in the view, day...
wow, sounds good. was thinking about getting together with some of you, but I went for an overnight last night at a state park and I don't know if the whole outdoors is really for me.
Any hangers in Greenville, SC? or surrounding area?
ah, I see. Luckily with my hammock I have loose netting and a removable ridge line, so that way when I flip it, it goes back to the "open to the air" hammock.
I don't know if this is more of a common sense idea or what, but I remember looking at the HH website and the guy lounging back using the hammock as a chair, but he was sitting directly on the...
Thanks guys.
Yea, I thought about that, just thought it would be a bad price for just what you need. Maybe could use the sleeping bag material for something though. . .
Maybe two of the longest zippers I can...
Working on my third hammock and I'm thinking about trying velcro on the side in between the mosquito netting and side of the hammock. Mainly because I don't have another 5-6 foot long zipper. I know...
Hey check out my video about this, I've tried silicone and gasoline and it worked. Coffee grounds remove the bad smells. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RzR9-HASSIA
