but, you are right the forum is good as is.
everyone has been very generous and kind with their replies, awesome!
but, for us Canadians some "local" knowledge in a specific section, could be useful .....
still, this is an awesome forum...
typically, what width of pad is preferred?
edit, found the answer, from the search function ... :)
yes i agree, i like my thermarest.
but the ObusForme looks softer and more forming, the ObusForme weight and bulk is none issue for me.
looks softer than a thermerest, could a be good under pad .... please advise.
...
just askin ..... cause you never know .....

best reply ever :D
but seriously, i do understand about down and why it's generally speaking one of the best insulators. i was a little concerned about how hammocks are kind of open. but...
... when it gets wet, it's the worst insulation.
just curious to what type of sleeping "bag" insulation you are using and why?
thanks

thanks very much for the replies :)
tiny, that's good to know, us tall guys can't always get stuff that fits. lol .... :crying:
i'm in to hunting so i usually sleep in a cabin tent with a wood stove, which is real cozy.
however, i need a hammock for when i'm in the forest on multi campsite trips that is quick / waterproof...
this all sounds very encouraging, thanks ... ;)
welcome and peace, i'm new here as well.
thank you for the warm welcome :) very cool!
just about to purchase my first hammock for bear hunting this spring, in BC Canada, figured this would be a great place to get advice for my hammock purchase.
peace :)
