Used synthetics for years and I always got cold. Switched to down for weight and compressibility reasons and I have never been cold. I think that, for me, down just breathes better than synthetics....

For me, the strap suspension on my Blackbird is easier and quicker to use than whoopie slings. Now that should confuse the noobs out there.:laugh:

Another good, cheap line is fishing trot line. It comes in different sizes so I'm able to find line that has a large enough diameter that I can handle it when my arthritis is bothering my hands.

Might help if you told us what suspension you have as there are two different suspensions that are available on the Blackbird. Also,we need to know what it is you don't like about the suspension.

I use a ridge line with my tarp, so when I'm ready to pack it away, I furl it like you would a sail and then I cram it in it's stuff sack.
