This weekend Dutch and I used 2 layer IX UQs with a low of 32*F. That was stretching it, but it worked.
Thing1 used a HH SS OCF pad plus one layer of IX and was toasty!

You did exactly what I just did with my brother in the hammock. He said he did not feel any particular warmth, until I removed the IX UQ... Then, he immediately...
