Hi Chaz! Thanks for the NEHHA invite--unfortunately that's right before Easter, so I expect to be busy at the shop! I'm sure we'll manage to get together, though.
Take care, and happy hangin'!

Howdy All!
We thoroughly enjoyed the LT, but really had no idea how difficult the last segment (Camel's Hump northward) would be! A big thank you to Quoddy for teaching us to hike light!
Uh,...
Just Mike and I finished our third leg, and the whole shebang, of the Long Trail late last year. We wrote much of our Trip Report in verse...

Just Mike was...
After missing last year due to the new shop buildout, Just Mike and I are heading off for the middle third of the Long Trail on Friday. Eight glorious days of walking and hammocking from Rutland to...
I used 2 ft of shock cord with a cord lock on one end. I also found that it needed surprisingly little tension to be effective.
Rich
*That* will have to wait until the weather cools. Yes, I like the mod. It made my Traveler much more comfortable.
Rich
I just folded the fabric over twice to form a channel, sewed, and added cord locks.
Rich
Went with two-foot stretches on opposite sides--one near my head and one near my feet, to give me more of a cocoon feel than a whole-length stretch would do. Rather than sewing on a channels, I...
Yeah, my WBBB is probably 2 years old. The current suspension is much faster to set up and take down.
I just re-rigged the suspension on my BB with the newer double flat triangles that Brandon shipped on my Traveler. No more slippery half-hitches--hooray!
Rich
...and a grand time was had by all.
Feeling seriously post-outdoors mellow. Great to see y'all again, and nice to make a few new acquaintances.
Plenty warm with my 20 degree bag and...
It's official--Just Mike and I will be able to make it for Saturday evening.
Rich
Put me down as solid, provided (1) Just Mike attends, else (2) I can hitch a ride with someone. (I am NOT hanging off the back of 'Painter's motorcycle!)
Making some mods to the Traveler I'd like...
There *were* the Jerzey's.
Yeah, like there'll be anything in the bottle 10 minutes after you open it ;-o
Thanks, Red. The whole-length stretch makes sense--I sort of want a "head box" as well.
Rich
Contemplating this mod for my WB Traveler, but the hem's narrow (<.5in). I think I may just fold the loose edge over an inch and sew to create a natural channel, then thread in the bungee. Seems more...
I scheduled my newly-promoted chocolatier for that weekend, so you can put me on the "probably" list for Saturday night--Just Mike may be joining in, as well.
I can bring both the Blackbird and...
Mass is tougher for me to pull off. We'll see what we can do.
Mother's Day is definitely out for me. Moms like chocolate, so I'll be busy.
r=(2GM)/c2 is the Schwarzchild radius, or definition of a black hole. It also describes Skypainter's truck nicely.

At Monadnock, we should aim for the new campground--it's supposed to be very nice. The weather is soooo very fine today. Give anything to be out on the trail!
Okay, I've got an Edge rather than a Superfly--duh. But basically the same concept.
I rigged the tarp for my WBBB with shock cord with a loose loop of thin line for the tie-outs. This ensures the...
Thanks, Tendertoe, now I don't feel quite so dense! Got no doors, so I won't use the corners, but I might tie the bugnet up to the inner ridgeline rings.
Howdy y'all,
I just received my new Traveler, bugnet and superfly cat tarp from Brandon. The tarp has changed quite a bit since the one I bought for my WBBB, and I'm curious about the best way to...
Yeah, pretty much. It's a rough job, but somebody's got to do it.
The hammock's yours pending payment.
You pay the shipping on the truffles. And I recommend waiting until the weather cools a bit--hot weather shipping can be pricey! That said, my current batch of...
Very lightly used. Free shipping to the continental U.S.

With a scheduled early October shop opening, late September is pretty unlikely for me. Perfect as the weather will likely be!
Rich
Chatted about it with my wife over dinner. She said the new Gilson Pond camp area has lots of trees and would probably be great for hanging. When's the hang? If it's the 14th, there's a chance I...
I'm hoping to have the shop open in early October--not much hanging for me before then! Will let you know when things get a bit closer.
Rich
My wife works for NH State Parks, and I'm sure she'd be willing to ask the park manager for recommendations. I know they just opened up a new camp area at Monadnock that's supposed to be pretty nice....
Tell her there's chocolate in it *if* I can manage to get myself a break from building out and opening the store! (I close on the building on Tuesday, btw. Going to be a stark summer for hanging.)

Man, am I ready! See y'all tomorrow!
Information sent. You can cross me off the list.
In front of the Barnes & Noble at Spit Brook Rd, just like last time. Thanks again for the lift!
I have so much going on--four events in the next month and opening a storefront by August--there's really no way I can make rationally justify the outing.
Then again, I have so much going on I can...
This from the guy who's planning to bake bread on the trail. Call me a food snob. I like my food to be, uh, food.
We have Spam & Rice for dinner every couple of months when my wife gets the craving for Hawaiian comfort food, and I don't mind it. However, spam will never touch my backpacking cook kit--I keep that...
No, that would be chocolate. Hence it's latin name "theobroma cacao"--Food of the Gods. Spam is the Food of the Hawaiians. Seriously. National food of Hawaii and all that. You can get spam...
Sounds perfect. Congrats on the new blackbird.
Rich
Probably--late afternoon or early evening would be best. What time are you thinking?
Dutch oven, eh? Maybe I'll bring a starter for you to play with. Hey, we can make *chocolate bread!*
No problem and yep. Just let me know what time you'd like to be there and I'll see about getting a lift down.
Rich
My wife and I will be hanging at Pawtuckaway State Park in mid-April and I expect the night to be cold. Plan for 30-40 degrees. I'm bringing my UQ, my 15 degree Western Mountaineering bag, and a...
Unless you're carrying say, twenty of them! ;-)
Sorry you won't be making it, Tobit. Hope all's well with the Doctor. Goes for you as well, Jerzy!
Looks like I'll take you up on that lift,...
Bringing a slab of 56% Caraque. A bit too sweet for me to work with, but it will make excellent hot chocolate. Now, time to start the season's gear alterations :-)
> 30) Chocolatier = WarBonnet Black Bird (???)
That would be 1.7 double. And yes, I've got the hot chocolate covered.
Unless anything surprising comes up, consider me confirmed, btw. And I can swing the $5.
