Fellow Amok owner here, absofreekinglutely on the miss-sized stuff sacks from Amok, it does do back in, but with too much effort IMO. I usually don't carry the Amok because of the bulk and weight,...
Sad news, I enjoyed my exchanges with him.
Howdy,
You bought the house and I assume the tree. If that's the case you are free to "abuse" the tree as much as you please. More on that later.
You mention you have a son who may or may not...
O spoke with Marty a couple of times on the phone, he was as nice and helpful of a guy you could ever meet.

Wonder how Lake Yates looks today? It's gotta be huge!
PG, did someone change the dates on your devices to 4/1?
Nice work.
I used Lawson Ti SH’s for several years exclusively but primarily use those for doors and take a couple for backup now. I switched to the V stakes like the ones Amok includes. I have ground hawks and...
Very nice work! I too developed a problem with prusiks and because of the issues with them abandoned them on the ridge lines, good work on the splicing, wnad who doesn't love an excuse to splice!
From the OP...
"Alternatively....looking for ideas that are simple, lightweight, and can be left tied to the tarp D rings to have adjustable guylines with the adjustment side attached to the tarp...
I also find it makes for a quick and easy setup, that's why it's my preference. I've tried various continuous versions and find I like how quick centering the tarp is using guy outs in place of the...
Not sure about that great mind thing, at least on my part. I also use the 2 small split rings on UGQ tarps like a buckle, works great... most of the time. It's also really easy when you have D rings...
One of my favorite setups is a continuous loop larks headed to the guyout prussic'ed to the guy lines with fixed eyes on either end. Simple hardware free fided eye looped/larks headed to the stake...
So far my preferred method is to use a individual zing/lash-it guys to the ridge line using wasp and flys. For the remaining guys I use the same cordage all of which have fixed eyes on both ends. One...
I use a roll top Sea to Summit dry bag to pack my hammock, under quilt still attached to the hammock, bugnet still attached to the hammock, pillow and top quilt still attached to the hammock. It...
Welcome from northern South Carolina. These guys are hammocking wizards 'round here. With all of the wisdom shared here it's easy to learn and equally easy to spend a pile of cash on gear. Enjoy the...
I have to withdraw my offer, I sincerely apologize for delaying the sale of the tarp.
I'll take the Dynema Palace Camo, please pm paypal info.
HR, here is a pick of my UGQ tarp guy line set up set up with Kelty triptease. In the pic the line from the peg passes thru the rings on the underside of the rings and then over the top back towards...
The OP mentions a point of failure in the guy lines to protect tarps. And if there are concerns about sharp ends on the split rings an option could be Niteyes S-Biners available in various weight...
What is the length and width? Thanks
Check Bonefire Gear, pair the whisper (2#) with a 10’ cuben tarp (5 oz) and a good 30 degree to (19 oz) and that is 3.5 lbs for shelter and insulation. Check out Bonefire’s all in one suspension....
Judging from the replies, you might get more responses if'n ya'll'd put some clothes on!
Welcome from just across the border, great to have you!
Color me impressed, nice engineering. All the best, keep the hits coming.
EMT, Electrical Metallic Conduit, has a very thin wall and cannot be threaded. So threaded connectors cannot be used.
RMD, Rigid Metallic Conduit, does come with each end threaded.
Love watching the collaboration on this! Great idea and work guys!
Trying to logically follow a semi direct route from memory, except for the gorge but that could be reserved for your way back. Good luck school shopping, my girl rejected Coastal and I was relieved....
Do you have pics and specs on the kettle. I love my GSI kettlist, and would love a ti model. When was it made, I can't find any references to a ti GSI kettle anywhere.
Please messag me when you are ready! So glad to hear this is not dead.
Wouldn't that make em air land and mud sammiches?
You may find fiberglass driveway markers suitable for tarp attachments. They will flex as the hammock ridgeline changes, as a bonus they have reflective taps on the top with a rubber cap you could...

Nice, a grommet would do the trick if you didn't want to DIY.
Hope you get it squared. The hammock really depends on what you are doing, backpacking, car camping, or bed replacement. +1 on the bridge options and Amok. I have tried bridges, plan to buy one since...
