I really enjoy my ENO hammocks (especially my doublenest this year) and in numerous summer, fall and spring backpacking trips (40+) have found them to be high-quality and reasonable weight (16-20...
I got one from the local West Chester store a few months ago. I would be glad to box it up and send it to you for reasonable price plus shipping (not sure what it would cost to ship).
My wife...
Have you weighed it yet?
For backpacking /camping... I've learned to adore the Prusik knot.
Item has been sold.
I picked this up a year ago but only set it up once in the backyard for about 10 minutes.
ENO Restnest Hammock - $25.00 (includes shipping).
Color: Solid green
Durable, rip-resistant nylon...
My newly purchased IKEA hammock stand with also new ENO doublenest set up in my small allocated space my wife assigned me in the basement. It's really destined for the back yard as soon as it warms...
nice video. love my black tadpole but that camo sure is nice. hum..might have to empty my penny jar to get some spending money.
Nice find!
There is an IKEA 10 miles from me... My wife is going to kill me when that stand shows up at my (Ok... her) house.
I have an eno single and newly purchased eno double and I think...
Any critters scare ya?
Gee. Why didn't I think of that? Looks like I'll be putting some bolts inside my garage tomorrow. :). Thanks.
I'm in...thanks!:):)
I also use a ENO Singlenest and am extremely happy with the Wilderness Logics "Tad Pole", 132" x 92", $85.00 current price.

I just finished...
4 stakes,
Prusik knot for the tree ends AND
Prusik knot and self-tensioning line to the stakes.
That's it.
Why? Light, reliable, simple and easy to adjust, no hardware (s-biner will soon be...
I am going out this weekend (red river gorge) with the same rain forecast but colder. Never even considered bailing but I am bummed at the extra gear im packing (umbrella, etc)
Thanks for the post!
My fav knot is the Prusick.
Well I vote for the wildernesslogics tadpole. They make a larger one called the Big Daddy which I also owned and highly recimmend.
yo, my mom and grandparents (both gone now) were from Gallipolis!!!

Anyway, welcome to Tim from Mason, OH
I do the same with the a small 20"x16" blue pad stuffed into the end of my sleeping bag. Have done this down to 32F and it works for myself.
Ha.
Now I can't wait till my wife goes out of town!
Cant find any specs on the 2mm but the 3mm is MBS: 1.8 kN (400 lbf). Whatever that means?
If the 2mm utility cord is the same as their accessory cord its specs are MBS: 0.7 kN (157 lbf
Besides hiking...I recommend dinner (pizza) at "Miguel's Pizza & Rock Climbing shop" (1890 Natural Bridge Rd Slade, KY 40376).
Also, here's a trail map....
On impulse I purchased 100' of 2mm PMI Utility Cordage at our new REI the other day...my little mind thinking it would be great for my new found passion for hammock ridgelines.
On my scale 100'...
duh....
Actually, it's an issue I struggle with. I typically just put them on the ground beneath my hammock BUT worry if it does rain heavily I might have an issue with running water.
Since I...
yea, I was struggling with the setup but the key for me was replacing the 550 cord with non-stretching cord and also going with a ridgeline.
I also wish I knew about hammocking those many years...
Wow. I can't believe I was able to get this to work (i doubt my capabilities sometimes)
This setup is simply so I can temporarily setup in my backyard since I don't have trees close enough...now I...
Better get busy
thanks for the notice...just might join in.
My first hammock was an
Orange ENO.
Thus enoorange.

No trees. It was my worst night ever in a hammock. Extreme wind and even rain and my noisy tarp flapped all night long....
Seriously.
I killed almost a whole afternoon yesterday in my back yard trying to figure out how to hang my hammock with only 1 tree. Limited success but then I dreamed about it all night.
Just...
hu..if something bumped me in the middle of the night I'd never go camping again. you are a brave man.
That's what I'm talking bout! Can't believe Kiba didn't at least bark!
Was looking at my first hanging adventure last year in Glacier Peak Wilderness and reminded me of the family herd of deer that hung within 10 yards of my hammock (at about 2 a.m.).
Noise woke me...
Most excellent! I am impressed!!
Wether ultralight backpacking or motorcycle camping the best habit l picked up 2 years ago was taking a separate set of clothes for sleeping.
The benefits are too many to mention..
Very nice!!
Oh, love those VFFs!!
Just want to say THANKS for the ideas!!
So my plan is...
1.Top Quilt (thanks titanium_hiker) Forgot all about this! I've been using a Kelty 40 Light Year down very successfully but would like a...
Ok. Purchased some ripstop from JoAnn Fabrics for a DIY tarp. Should've read the forum because now I think it is a dumb idea for me to try and waterproof, etc. my own tarp.
So, any ideas for what...
I might actually try that...well, not on myself...someone else first.
Save some $ and get an excellent Wildernesslogics Big Daddy 1.2 Silnylon, 130" x 115". Cat Cut Shape, Web Ties, Total Pack Weight: 13.9 oz.
Plenty of coverage and packs up small.
Look forward to your report.
The NX-250 just looks sweet!
My WildernessLogics Big Daddy hung in my backyard under almost 18 hours of continuous rain without being seam sealed. It did not leak.
In my opinion you will not have to seal your Tadpole.
Nice Vid. I am an "unzipper" myself w/40F down sleeping bag. Works well so far down to about 30F.
I almost cried when you cried...actually thought it was pretty good acting.
OutdoorChautauqua...
I made the IX UQ at 60" x 42" as mentioned above.
It is my largest backpacking item. I've either stuffed it first in the bottom of my backpack or into a bag attached to the outside.
Rough...
That looks really comfortable.
I think I'll have to try the same.
oooooo...added this to my TODO list for the 25th!:D
On my multi-day backpacking trips in bear country I have started carrying Bear Spray. "Those in the know" tell me this is MUCH more effective in managing bears than a gun.
"When" I do carry a...
Good question. On advice from local residents and friends who grew up in Kentucky, when I backpack/camp/atv there I do carry a Ruger P95 9mm.
However, since I've just transitioned to Hammocking...
