Glad you've enjoyed the honeymoon :)
Look forward to some fronkey screen-time, God knows it's been a while since your last videos. All that wedding-stuff seem to have messed with your priorities ;)

The stickies should point you in the right direction:)
Hi Rex.
I live in Denmark too and have also been pondering the quilt purchase quite a bit. So much that I haven't gotten around to actually ordering them. That and low funding has kept me from it...
Big thumbs up. Lovely and generous idea.
Indeed it does, great fleece. Love mine dearly and would buy another if I was brave enough:)
I have an Edge tarp and use it in general humid Scandinavian weather. A tarp I needed most of the year here, simply due to dew falling in the evening as temps start to drop. In the summer and cold...
I just bunch up the tieouts and stuff them along with the tarp in the stuff sack. I fig8 wrap the two-piece ridge line though, them being longer, wrapping them makes it easier to control them when...
Bugger, almost had myself convinced I didn't need all that bling and that I was just fine with the fig 9's I have now...
Thanks Dutch, guess I can add it to the wish list :)
Excelleny idea mate, that could maybe save the both of us a bit. I'm still saving for a set though. Hoping for a profitable birthday and a generous tax return to help me finance it.
Hopefully I...
That looks easier. Will have to get my thread injector from the attic and get to it.
Made this little sketch.
Rather unsure about the actual shape. How it's supposed to taper from the middle toward the ends and the width at the ends.
Also considering if just one cord lock will...
Good idea. I'll try and get on it.
Anyone have directions for a proper sketch on how to?
I've got some ideas, might have to make a drawing and post it here :)
Thank you.
I don't mind an extra shirt for sleeping and the majority of my trips are around spring, summer and early autumn, so I'm thinking that the 40 should cover that. Might spring for a custom...
Hmm.. Guess I will have to get some proper calendered ripstop then :)
Suppose I can make a hammock for my son from the rest I've got :)
Hmm.. The word calendered disappeared from my post apparently :) I meant calendered in order to gain wind resistance. Dwr for water resistance of course. But pitching tight can usually solve that.
How important is it to use or dwr treated ripstop over regular "plain" ripstop?
@jobbe.
Being from Denmark as well, I faced the same problems:) I bought some ripstop from extremetextil.de a while back to make myself an UQP. Haven't gotten around to it yet, but the price was...
Thanks for all the replies. You've given me a better idea of what seems proper.
Still leaning towards a 20uq/40tq - combo with that bit of overstuff. As mentioned, most of my camping is 3season. And...
Thanks FLRider :)
You came of sounding quite clever on that one :) will have to try it out as soon as possible.
How much further does adding the space blanket, allow you to extend the rating of...
I did consider those jobbe, but compared to the U.S. Cottage vendors, they seem a bit bulkier and heavier, and not as "advanced" sort of. Hopefully a set of quilts will last me a very long time and...
Very lovely place, appreciated the tour. Also, a lengthy video was nice, less clicking and tapping and more feet-up-time [emoji106]
Glad you're asking that question, been pondering a bit myself.
And while I'm no thermodynamicist-whatchamacallit, I'll have a guess anyway.
I'd say number 3 as well. As far as I understand it,...
@Craige.
You did seem familiar after all :)
We chatted a long time ago about the ohm 2.0 and a pack you were building yourself. Shorty ol' memory jolting back into action :)
How've you been? Seem...
Thanks.
I figured the Phoenix would make almost a full length for me:) I carry a small sit pad I've used from time to time if I've felt a bit cool at the feet.
I'm usually very comfy on top,...
Hi there.
Figured this was a more appropriate place to ask my questions.
I have been dodging around ordering a proper full set of quilts to replace the sleeping bag and PLUQ I've been using so...
Hi there.
I have been dodging around ordering a proper full set of quilts to replace the sleeping bag and PLUQ I've been using so far. It's worked fine, but the SB is quite bulky and heavy, being...
Similar to mine, just I dont use hooks. Very good idea though, adds some nice versatility [emoji1]
Welcome to the site mate, fellow Dane here. What part of Denmark are you from?
I have never had any issues hanging in forests either.
Excellent idea in the stuffsack menu :)
Lovely :) placed my order for burrow and Phoenix a few days ago, really looking forward to it getting here :)
Must admit to be stalking the order-status page daily :)
Placed my order for a 40* burrow and a 20* Phoenix. 1oz overstuff in each.
Now the itchy wait begins:)
Any idea how long a wait for international orders?
Velkommen, tak fordi du kom :)
Thanks for the replys.
Will go ahead and order me a set, can't wait that long, and the sales-forum is usually not a feasible option as I am on the wrong side of the Atlantic :)
Thanks again.
Hi
Hope I don't come off seeming cheap, but I was wondering if there was a HF members discount on quilts from HG?
Looking to put some money i a TQ and UQ and just about set on ordering from HG,...
I loved the vid. You make it look so easy that I almost regret ordering an Edge tarp. Well, almost :) guess I'll have an excuse to make myself a wintertarp at some point :)
Thanks fronkey.
Velkommen ombord :-)
Great things those poncho liners :-)
Any chance of a follow up review of those two? Have been considering the exact same setup, but have had a hard time finding opinions and comparrisons of them.
Just adding a bit of Info on the pluq. I made the sewn version, works great down to about 40, then something to supplement is indeed needed. I slip a ccf pad between the layers of the hammock, gets...
I made a long whoopie sling out of 1.75 zing-it, with a small fixed loop and a short tail at the adjustable end. Attaches just like in the pictures above and works, just passer the hammock suspension...
Neat idea with the tri-cams, hadn't thought of that :-)
Need a bigger "like" button for this :-)
Excellent, not a bad city to be in I'm told :)
For what reasons are you going there, work, studies, vacation?
I tie slippery half-hitches with the remaining whoopie line. Easy to make and undo, and also serve as dripstop when it's rainy outside.
Heard fine things about HH, would be tempted by that as well.
I live in the southeast, a city called Nykøbing Falster.
Yes, we are really on the wrong side of the pond when it comes to diy materials. Been looking myself for a good while, but difficult to find the right materials and fabric at reasonable cost.
I've been using a DD frontline and DD tarp for a good while now. Been pleased with it, works fine and quite rugged, so good practicematerial. It's heavy and bulky though. I'm pretty sure I could fit...
I really wish I had the available funds for it now. Very nice-looking tarp and a very generous deal. Unfortunately my money is tied up in saving for a new pack. Hope you find a good new home for it.
I have a DD frontline. It's a fine hammock, easy to set up and find a good lay in. I have switched the webbing for whoopie slings, and that works great. The bugnet is nice, and when suspended...
Depending on the UQ, you might not be able to lay as diagonal as without an UQ. In nu DD I can get a good deal more diagonal when not using my UQ. I can still get a pretty good angle with my UQ, just...
