FYI, ticks are out and skeeters won't be far behind them.
Have a great weekend y'all!

Have a great weekend y'all!
And... I'm out. Sad to be missing this one. Many a fond memory of hiking, hunting and camping thereabouts. Was looking forward to adding a few more.
Being in the piney woods is always a good time! This is now on my calendar.
Never been to the caves...
In my experience any time the temp hits the upper 40s and sunny there is a chance of ticks. The warmer, the more likely.
Ticks in February in Wisconsin is a bit unusual. What else is unusual this...
Either weekend works for me. Really looking forward to this hang!!
High Cliff is a nice State park that I have been to dozens of times. Really nice walking trails, many with historical significance. Mix of mature hardwoods and prairie, cool breeze off Lake...
Nice! Will try to attend.
So sad I had to miss this hang. :(
So sorry for your loss Tumbleweed.
Hope to see y'all the first weekend in December.
Welcome to the forum!
Oh man, what a great weekend!!
The weather was cool ( ;) ), the gear talk was great, the people even better, and the food...
Wow, just wow.
Extraordinary does not even begin to cover it! ...
First things first...

2016 Packer Bear Group Hang
True that Mark! The Bears D played hard and well, they put up a tough fight. Good thing for us their O was not of the same caliber! Whew!
Woot! 26-10 Go Pack Go!
Yes, mr squirrel made a clean getaway.
Seems like in more years than not there has been at least one snowfall before Halloween, so I expect it will have.
This summer my 60lb dog (who sleeps in the hammock) launched after a squirrel... while inside the bug net.
Yeah, I feel your pain.
I have at least two tarp and hammock setups I could bring. Will have to see what I have for extra insulation. Reflectix and extra pads for sure, probably a couple of sleeping bags too.
What are...
Thanks for sharing the pics!
Amazing! Wish I could have made it. :(
The leaves are starting to turn and the temps are dropping a lil... looking forward to this hang!!
Excellent bug net! Looks like it will work great.

Yet another great group hang!! Thanks to everyone for making this an enjoyable and memorable weekend in the Wisconsin woods!
Oh, and yes, uploading pics as we speak...
That has been my experience as well. All across Wisconsin the mice, coons, bears, etc all respect the dogs!
Mine being a hunting dog and my being a lifelong hunter, we look forward to curious critters. ;)
Mine is 3 also and (Finally!!!) calming down a bit. Whew!
I was being silly.
Mine is 60lbs and sleeps in the 'mock with me. As did her uncle before her. Originally thought I would need full sized UQs to keep them warm. Have come to realize that...
Been using the inner tubes on the whoopies since posting above. Poking the holes with a round object makes a difference, as does making the holes as small as possible. Did single layer of inner tube...
Guylines out to local vegetation are my go-to way to pitch high and wide, whether in porch or double porch modes.
Airflow and view are THE reasons to be out there. LOVE the view day or night!

Cool tip. Noted!
Quick rinse and good to go.
??? Pup isn't in the hammy with you ??? *gasp* :scared:
Penciled in!
If people are concerned about not having good enough gear, let people know your needs. Most of us have extra gear and don't mind sharing. Be a shame to miss out for no good reason.
After today, seven days and a wake up. Woot!!!
Never been to Potawamoni, nor Newport. Have been to Penninsula State Park (aka PSP). The group sites at PSP are NOT hangable. The majority of the sites at both Nicolet North and Welcker's Point...

YYYEEEAAAAAHHHHHH!! You go girl! I second that all of those (and many more WI critters) are quite yummy.
Do not see anyone signed up for any meals. Therefore assuming we're planning on providing our own meals. Will no doubt bring some things to share.
I was thinking grapes, but Eva is pushing for...
Mmmmmm... squirrel.... *drool*. Yepper, squirrel is even better than bunny meat. Yum Yum!
Following as well.
Phooey! Busy this weekend. :(
Lots of good suggestions here!
Welcome to the forums! Always good to have another hanger, err, hanging around!! lol
Since we all know Goobie is, umm, "spreadsheet challenged" shall we say... perhaps Karla with a K could get us out of this fix???
I'll third Swung & Goobie in that we'll get anyone and their stuff to and from the shelter any way we can. After all, this is a "Group Hang"... thus we're all in this together!!!
Now would be a...
I can see that there will be end to the hilarity at this particular hang!! ;)
