I just did the same thing over the weekend. Did a camp out at Joshua Tree and used a nut to suspend on side of my hammonck and webbing around a rock for the other side. It is very nice to have the...
I would agree, but it would be nice to know what shape the HH is so that I can know what I can change to get different characteristics.
You know Valentines is this week, good time to butter her up.
I wounder how you would put this in a bear canistor when you go to sleep at night. I don't know about you but I can't fit inside the bear canistor in the edible sleeping bag.

I am a Scout Master for our Troop. We made hammocks and many of the boys love sleeping in theirs. When we go backpacking the two questions are always is there water and can we hang our hammocks. ...
I tyied a couple different lengths and was just supprised how short the ridge line was. Mine currenly is about 2' shorter then the hammock.
What ratio do you use for your ridge lines. I just finnished hammock #4 and thought I would try using a ridge line. This hammock is 10' from knot to knot. I set it up today and thought I would see...

Babys love to sleep with you in hammocks. I found that my baby falls asleap faster in the hammock then in the recliner.

It least you discovered the crack before the door frame was laying on the floor. Good luck on getting a hammock stand
This is one of those times where living where no one else does has an advantage, no one to fight over fabric with. he he
After all the talk about the $1 a yard fabric I gave in today and went in search for some. On the 3rd Wal-Mart I found a buch of it. I got 15 yds of non coated and 24 yds of coated. Will make for...
My son (4 years old) has been sleeping every night in his hammock sence Thanksgiving. I made a loft bed a year or two a go and then hung the hammock after one of the kids got sick, so we had to go...
That was very funny
I can see it being more helpful for us on the west coast. I don't know anyone else in San Diego that hammock camps, and this would help out getting campouts in other places not covered by the WB.
I love my Atoms, I have the 35, and have loaded it up with lots of food for the zoo and done one overnight backpacking trip with it. My back stays dry, I need to try hanging a bladder in the gap...
That is a great price for 2 good Carabiners. I bought a couple of climbing ones at $20 each.
I have 3 more in the planning stages, and I have material for one.
I first say people sleeping in Hammocks while working at a scout camp when I was 16. I thought it would be a lot of fun but never thought more about it. Many years later while hiking in the...
I have seen some of the hammocks made of silk. I found some silk/wool blend that I am debating about. Has anyone used anything simular??

sorry must be a different person.
I have found tubing at a couple of different Hardware stores, for $1-$2 a foot. I have made a couple of these and they work great.
With 1.1 oz fabric I only have problems if I fold the end to sew in the strap rather then wipping. When wipping I have had ~200 lbs in mine repeatedly with no problems.
slide rulers are cool...
While working at a scout camp there was a troop that only slept in hammocks, and they would stack 3 or 4 high. It was interesting watching them get in and out of them. They would just climb them up...
