Can this be used to treat clothing that will be next to your skin?
This is still a great hike...back in the late 80s it was pretty remote.
I went back in the fall of 2009 and like someone else said.. felt like I was walking through neighborhoods in some places......
here is some pictures of some simple shock cord tensioners.
one pulled completely tight the other taking up some slack.
notice they are backed up by the cord itself ... so if they were to break it...
maybe some shock cord tensioner can help take up the slack.
thanks GvilleDave... great Pictures.
I did a zipper mod on my expedition... bottom entry is prob good for the jungle.... but is way to limiting for my needs.
yes...the hamster in my head is working again  Thanks for the help !
Perfect...that will work..
guess I had my head somewhere dark...
Thanks packeagle !
Oh that is too funny !
"attached to body piercing"
is that a new product "Dutch RingZ"
Yes that works for whoopies.. but if I tie it to the hammock like that... how can I get it on the rings ?
so I tried the whoopie sling... just not what I was looking for.
so I tried web suspension with descender rings and I think this is more what I was looking for.
Now... it is get it all together...
well there is always the fun stuff

Man.. that is one sweet tarp!
I have been drooling all over the OES web site for months wanting one of Brian's tarps
That is some of the finest craftsmanship I have ever seen.
some day I will...
so I got my time off from work.
going June 19th thru 25th if anybody is interested.
I am thinking of hanging around the Cowles Campground for a day to get acclimated to the 11k elevation. then...
Thanks KM!
now I just have to pick a date.... need to escape this Texas heat for a while
wow... this must be a first...
nobody has anything to say. :(
I have a little alarm we used when we left our scuba gear on the beach.
it is a simple device that has a contact that plugs unto the alarm with a headphone jack type plug.
you rig the alarm to your...
I need to get out and play here in the next couple of weeks..
was thinking of Gila wilderness... but it is too hot and still has fires and smoke in the area..
clb had said to look at Pecos...
+1 on what Gargoyle and krugd say
also braided mason line grips zing-it about the same... and nice for a little color contrast too
Pecos ? hmmm
now that is worth looking into..
temps 75 high 45 low :)
thanks clb !
wow... well I guess I will pick another time to go..
hot, fires, smoke and trail closures....
going to have to find some place else to hang myself
thanks all for the info....
was wanting to go to Gila Wilderness maybe in the next couple of weeks.

well... I have been dorking with this conversion... and just can't get anything I like...
I started this because the standard HH ropes were lashed to the tree straps... and for the most part...
great job Dave !
and at a very affordable price too
I have one... it is really a tarp that converts to a channel end hammock.
whats cool is when used as a hammock you can lay in one half and pull the other half over like the picture... I have...
I have some of those squawking big black birds in my yard...
they are pretty aggressive... they jump to lower branches... then their buddy come buy.... all squawking at me...
I really think it is...
I think you are correct... I had noticed the same thing.
I bet these are 1500lb straps... giving them 500lb working....
I am 198lb so I should be ok...
the straps have a loop in them...
I was going to just cut the hardware off and use the straps as is...
I keep reading about loop size..
what are the benefits of different size end loops ?
cool... I think I will get some..
and I have a 20% off coupon.... talk about the right price... :D
Thanks guys!
I was looking at harbor freight and found these
Lashing straps
330lb working load...
seems like a low rating... maybe because the hardware is rated that low?
Anybody ever used these ?
any...
something old becomes something new....
I use the tripod stool when I am light... and a small piece of walmart pad when pack is heavy..... but I think it is time for the "Jerry chair" now..
I think...
wow I am blind.... thanks
ok... I guess I am blind... but where is the members section ?
now that is funny..
I lived in Louisiana for a while.... and in that part of the country that would be Gator bait.:lol:
thanks all..
now that I have made a few whoopies for the HH.
I needed some lines for the tarp... and Jeff killed my fun making them from amsteel :)
so....I decided to make some whoopies out of ...
that is a good point...
I have packed up many times in the rain..and and it was a pita to try to keep the hammock dry.
I just tried a whoopie with the extra length on one side... and it is too...
well.. I guess I will try and see how it goes.
I really like sliding the snake skins back and deploy both tarp and hammock...
I have been reading and see many topics about putting whoopies on hennessy but still left me wondering..
so....I got myself about 120 feet of amsteel to play with... and now my 2 brain cells go to...
Wow... what a great video...
made me feel like I was there.
Thanks for sharing... :)
That is on my wish list...
